Rosemary Merkes, 88, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019.
She was born in Stratford on March 23, 1931, to parents Anton and Theresa (Baur) Schoenfuss.
Rosemary was united in marriage on June 14, 1950, to Hubert Merkes.
Rosemary enjoyed playing cards and board games, tending to her garden, bird watching and attending the grandchildren’s events.
Rosemary is survived by six children, Debra Merkes, Perry (Roxie), Jeff (Diane), Tina (Gene) Conley, Dave (Roxie G.) and Randy (Kelly); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Bea Merkes; two brothers, Ted Schoenfuss and Leonard (Eleanor) Schoenfuss; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Neosho.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 148 W. Lehman St., Neosho on Monday, Dec. 2, at 12 p.m. with Fr. Justin Lopina presiding.
