Robert W. Leitzke, 62, of Random Lake, formerly of Horicon/Belgium passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Robert was born on December 22, 1957. He was raised by Martin and Marie (Hankwitz) Leitzke. He was a graduate of Horicon High School in 1976.
Robert was united in marriage to Linda Mahnke on June 18, 1977 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon.
Robert spent many years outdoors and creating beautiful landscapes with his company Leitzke and Sons Landscaping.
In his spare time, Robert loved fishing and using his green thumb to cultivate beauty in his backyard. Robert was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and helped encourage others in their recovery.
Robert is survived by his sons, Jason Leitzke of Jackson and Jesse (special friend Jody Skallerud) Leitzke of Marshall; his sister, Suzanne Keup of Horicon; his brother, Steve Leitzke of Fox Lake; his granddaughter, Lizzy Herr. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and his brother-in-law, Gordon Keup.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Wednesday.
A funeral service for Robert was held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. Burial took place at St John’s Cemetery in Mayville. Robert’s family asks that those attending please respect the face covering mandate.
