ROB BOWE
If there was ever a home-grown Dodge County gal who gained a little fame and was forgotten, it was Mathilde Schley (sch-lie). Ms. Schley was a noted artist, writer and a successful entrepreneur. She was born near Horicon in 1864, the daughter of pioneer settlers, Friedrich and Hannah Schley, Prussian Pomeranian Old Lutheran immigrants who arrived in Lebanon Township in 1843.
