David C. Baerwald

David C. Baerwald, 56, of Greenville, OH, passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at 11:22 AM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH.
He was born July 11, 1964, in Beaver Dam, the son of Lorraine (Neitzel) Baerwald of Horicon, and the late Chuck Baerwald.
He worked as a service maintenance technician at GTI in Greenville. He served his country in the United States Army.
David was first and foremost devoted to his family and friends whether they were distant or close in relationship to him. He was generous with his time and money which included a sassy sense of humor. He sought to be supportive, and continuously looking for ways to help those around him. He was a proud Green Bay Packer fan who spent years collecting memorabilia who had a signature voice message when you didn’t answer your phone.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his wife, Tracy L. (Royer) Baerwald on April 15, 2017, whom he married July 7, 2001.
He is survived by his mother; his children and spouses: Justin Baerwald of Greenville, Tara and Michael Ginger of Greenville, Jesse Baerwald and Mary Gibson of Greenville, Amber and Adam Duncan of Greenville, and Olivia Baerwald of Greenville; his grandchildren, Paige Hart, Levi Kolb, Audrey Duncan, Aiden Duncan, and Evie Baerwald; his brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Betty Baerwald of Elkhorn; his sisters: Sharon Weber of Beaver Dam, Sandra Baerwald of Portland, OR; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home. Veterans services will be conducted on Thursday at the funeral home by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to The Cancer Association of Darke County.
