Donna M. Himstedt
Donna M. (Haegler) Himstedt, 72, of Fond du Lac, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Liberty House.
She was born on October 14, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of the late Ernest and Erma (Voigt) Haegler.
Donna graduated from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on May 29, 1962, was confirmed on June 24, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church, and graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1966.
She married Donald Butzke on September 23, 1967, and after their divorce, she married Dwight Himstedt on September 26, 1993.
Donna’s happiest and most fulfilling job was caring for her family, but she also worked at Regal Ware, Leeson Electric, and was a manager at the Lincoln House.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Dwight; children, Christine (Brian) Weed of Fond du Lac, Cynthia Butzke of Fond du Lac, Jeffrey (Nicole Repp) Butzke of Fond du Lac, Cathleen (Kendall) Schultz of Plymouth, and Cheryl Scott of Neenah; nine special grandchildren, Aaron and Nathaniel Weed, Joseph, Frankie, and Brian Eimiller, Erin and Emma Butzke, and Joshua Scott and Ryan Schad; sisters, Diane Haegler and Debra (Kevin) Niemuth Haegler; brother, Alan (Sandy) Haegler; former mother-in-law, Camilla “Millie” Butzke; and former sister-in-law, Karen Krief. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Mary Himstedt; former spouse, Donald Butzke; and former father-in-law, Marvin Butzke.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 855 Martin Ave, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
The funeral service began at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Grunewald officiating. Burial followed at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Dundee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee.
Donna’s family would like to thank the staff of the Liberty House, all her caregivers, Heartland Hospice, and Rev. Adam Zimpelmann and Rev. Matt Grunewald for their compassion and care.
