Darlis Martha Kempf
Darlis Martha Kempf (nee Kudek), of Beechwood passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 8, 2021, at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake, at the young age of 84 years. Darlis was born on Sep – tember 2, 1937, in the town of Wayne to Joseph and Martha Kudek (nee Faber). She was united in marriage to Delmar “Del” Kempf on July 11, 1959, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in the town of Wayne. They started their life together, built their home in Beechwood, and raised two children, Debi (David) Hendrickson of Hingham and Wayne (Jackie) Kempf of Appleton.
Throughout their married life Darlis and Del loved vacations in Eagle River and traveling. She loved baking, cooking, and working in the yard. Darlis was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. She was famous for her potato salad and sometimes would be making enough for 150 people!
Throughout her life Darlis worked for several employers, West Bend Company for 17.5 years. She then decided to retire to care for her two grandchildren, Cassie and Brandon. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Darlis lost her husband in 2006, but she remained at home until May 2020. She then resided at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake. Darlis loved all the activities, especially Bingo. She made many friends and her favorite pastimes were puzzles, adult coloring, and search a word.
Those Darlis leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children, Debi (David) Hendrickson and Wayne (Jackie) Kempf; four grandchildren, Brandon Prom, Cassie (special friend Sam) Prom, Justin (Sam) Kempf, and Tyler (Megan) Kempf; two great-grandsons, Reid and Branch Kempf; three siblings, Roger Kudek, John (Jeaneen) Kudek, and Shirley (Paul) Fellenz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Darlis was preceded in death by her husband, Del; and her sister-in-law, Joyce Kudek.
Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott with Pastor Brian Krueger officiating.
The family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at Church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial was at the Church cemetery following the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gables on the Pond for making Darlis’ 1.5 years at Gables a true joy! She loved the staff and of course had her favorites! (you know who you are) Thanks to all who visited Mom! Also thanks to Shirley for the baked goodies every week! And a very special thank you to John and Jeaneen Kudek, your love and support is appreciated more than words could ever express!
