Gordon Gustave Schwartz
Gordon Gustave Schwartz, 89, of Horicon, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024.
Gordon was born to Gustav and Eleanora (Drews) Schwartz on July 4, 1935, in Burnett. He graduated from Horicon High School in 1953.
Gordon was united in marriage to Florine Schultze on September 30, 1961, at St. Malachy’s in Horicon.
Gordon was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and used his voice to praise his Lord by singing in the choir.
He worked for many years at John Deere as a pipe fitter. Gordon was a member of the Horicon Fire Department for 33 years and was a former fire chief.
Gordon’s pride and joy were his grandchildren. He cherished the time spent together and the precious memories made. Gordon’s hobbies included playing cards, travelling, and attending theater productions.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Florine; his children, Lisa Schwartz of Slinger, Gordon Schwartz Jr. of Whitefish Bay, and Andrew (Kari) Schwartz of Grafton; his four grandchildren, Maren (Kevin) Kohlwey, Zoe Schwartz, Starr Welk-Schwartz, and Greta Schwartz; and his three great-grandchildren, Auburn, Jade, and Ember. Gordon is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and his eleven brothers and his sister.
A Celebration of Gordon’s life will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. A visitation for Gordon will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
