Faye Priscilla Schmidt
Faye Priscilla Schmidt, 75, of Milwaukee, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee after an extended stay.
Faye was born on February 23, 1949, to Norbert and Priscilla (nee Radloff) Lehmann. She was united in marriage with Robert Schmidt on November 2, 1968, in Hustisford.
Faye was known for her good nature, honest takes, and ability to whistle so loudly you could hear it blocks away. She was quick to laugh and always enjoyed a good time, typically surrounded by family and friends. She was a faithful spouse, loving mother, hard worker, helpful neighbor, and loyal friend. Her nicknames “Miss TV Guide” and “Bassett Lady” speak to her love of television and dogs, but she also enjoyed reading, spirited debate, good food, playing games, cheering for the Brewers and Packers, and most of all, doting on her granddaughters. Throughout her life she struggled with many health woes yet always persevered. She beat cancer multiple times, proving her stubbornness knew no limits. Her jovial nature and strong personality made her a memorable presence and, as a result, she will be missed by many.
Faye is survived by her loving sons, Jason (Ellen) of New York, NY, and Justin (Holly Wells) of Uhrichsville, OH; brother Norbert Lehmann (Jill) of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Wayne Schmidt of Hartford; and cherished granddaughters, Amelia and Vivian. She is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 55 years, Bob; parents; parents-in-law, Paul and Elveira (nee Zirbel) Schmidt; sister, Joyce Bartelt and her husband Tom; brother, Keith; and sisters-in-law, Eileen (nee Braemer) Schmidt and Linda “Dolly” (nee Kruegar) Schmidt.
A memorial service honoring Faye’s life will be held Saturday, Nov.23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford, WI 53027. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. Wearing Faye’s favorite color yellow is encouraged.
