Jeffrey “Lumpy” Lee Guelig, 70, of Theresa, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at the Christian Home in Waupun with his loving wife by his side.
A memorial service for Jeff/Lumpy took place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Phil Wheelehan officiating. A visitation for Jeff was held on Wednesday, Nov. 20,  at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m.
Jeffrey was born the son of Edgar “Junior” and Marjorie (Walsh) Guelig on November 4, 1954, in Fond du Lac. He was a graduate of Lomira High School.
Jeff was united in marriage to Dawn Paulus on June 14, 1986, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa.
Jeff “Lumpy” was truly one of a kind. Jeff retired from Dodge County Hwy Dept in 2011 after 32 years of service. He served and protected as part-time Dodge County Deputy and police officer for the Village of Iron Ridge and the Village of Theresa. Jeff served on the Theresa Fire Department for 52 years and was a driver for Theresa EMS for many years. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Village of Theresa.
Lumpy took many “hot laps” around town. This was his way of getting out and about in his community to talk with the people he knew. He loved to watch and attend Nascar Races and WWE Events. He enjoyed many trips to Tuckers and Gilles and loved Sun Drop. Jeff was a collector of hats, watch fobs, and other trinkets relating to construction. Lumpy loved Mopar muscle cars, especially his beloved 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner. Jeff loved vacationing with Dawn in Ixtapa, Mexico and other Caribbean locations.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife Dawn; his sister, Kathy Guelig; siblings-in-law, Jim (Deb) Paulus, Pam (Gene) Koll, and Jackie (Carey) Jacak; nieces and nephews, Jay Haag, Tim (Barb) Haag, Becky (Jason) Smith, Stephanie (Aaron) Cunningham, Kevin (Gretchen) Paulus, Katie (Michael) Noel, Ryan (Amber) Koll, Joshua (Sam) Jacak, Jeremy (significant other Kristin Vahl) Jacak, and Kayla (fiancé McHale Dye) Jacak; great nieces and great nephews, Joseph Haag, Tyler Haag, Mira LaCrosse, Mena LaCrosse, Connor Paulus, Trevor Paulus, Jenna Paulus, Ava Cunningham, Hazen Noel, and Mykah Noel. Lumpy was further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law Edward and Shirley Paulus.
Memorials in honor of Jeff/ Lumpy may be directed to the Theresa Fire Department or Theresa Ambulance Service.
