  Mary Elizabeth Marohl, 99, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Oakwood Village East in Madison.
 She was born on December 20, 1924, to Arnold E. Knop and Grace (Hotaling) Knop, in Fond du Lac.
Mary was deeply involved in the societal life of her home in Horicon, having participated in a local little theater and having initiated and run a ladies’ exercise program in the City Hall. She had been a member of several bridge clubs and acted as a Choir Director for several churches in the area. Mary enjoyed participating in the local historical society and attending Welsh music festivals.
Mary worked with her husband, John, in the family plumbing business, attending to office work and running a bath boutique in the storefront. She volunteered for several organizations, including Meals on Wheels, as a reading assistant in elementary school, and as an election monitor.
Mary is survived by her three sons and their spouses, John (Cindy), Charles (Cathy), David (Alice); grandchildren, step-grandchildren, which includes, Christopher Marohl (Nicole) and their children, Henry and Mira; Michael Marohl (Nicole) and their children, Maverick and Stella; and Peter Marohl and Elizabeth Marohl. Other family members include Dustin and Marcia Price and step-great-grandchildren, Esther and Elisa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents as well as her mother’s second husband, Simon Schaefer. Also preceding her in death were her husband, John, and her four siblings and their spouses. These included Carolyn Maastricht (Peter); Janet McCorison (Marcus); and Edward Knop (Margaret).
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at 11 a.m.. on Friday, Nov. 22, in the chapel at Oakwood Village East, 5565 Tancho Drive, Madison. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
