Sylvester J. Neis

Sylvester J. Neis, 81, of Campbellsport died Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at the SSM Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
He was born on June 30, 1943, the son of Anthony and Hilda (nee Wagner) Neis.
On October 23, 1971, Syl was united in marriage to Joan A. Rohlinger at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport.
Syl worked at Precision Metals in Campbellsport for 40 years; retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed golfing and going to the races at Elkhart Lake. Syl coached his son’s baseball teams and enjoyed all of Cole’s sporting events. Syl also enjoyed woodworking and small projects during his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joan; sons, Craig (Sarah) Neis and Cory Neis; grandson, Cole Neis; brother-in-law, Daniel (Donna) Rohlinger; sisters-in-law, Carol Neis, Alice Carpenter, and Rose (Roger) Ramthun; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Syl was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Hilda; brothers, Leo Neis and Robert (Dee) Neis; in-laws, Clarence and Cecilia (nee Foy) Rohlinger; brothers-in-law, Gene (Helen) Rohlinger and Lee Carpenter; and sisters-in-law, Marian (John) Karoses, Lucille (Syl) Bassill, and Therese Rohlinger.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport.
A Memorial Service followed on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to SSM Hospice Home of Hope or St. Matthew’s Church.
