Rodney Allen Giese, 88, of Iron Ridge passed away on October 30, 2020 at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam. Rodney Allen Giese, son to Verona (Bartelt) and Walter Giese, was born July 14, 1932. He was united in marriage to Rita A. Liegl on July 18, 1959. Rodney wore many hats and had many roles in his life: Son, Brother, Loving Husband, Father (Dad), and was affectionately known as Grandpa, Gramps, Papasan, Great-Grandpa, Great-Papa, Big Rod and Uncle Rod. Rodney played baseball in his younger years, and was a heck of a pitcher. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He made sure to teach all of his children how to hunt and fish. He loved his country music (the old time Willie, Buck Owens, etc). He enjoyed taking road trips with his late wife Rita, playing cards with friends and family and trips to the casino with loved ones. Rod loved watching sporting events on TV, especially the Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers. He looked forward to visits and spending time and reminiscing with loved ones. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his humor and his kind and loving heart, and occasionally popping his dentures out to make you laugh. Rodney worked most of his working years at Mayville Metal in Mayville. Rodney is survived by five children, Jeffrey Liegl of Lomira, Denice (Gary) Sternat of Lomira, Roxann (Cesare) Mazzolari of Iron Ridge, Tammy (Robert) Haugen of Iron Ridge, Kimberly (Andrew) Hanke of West Bend. Rod is survived by brothers, Robert Giese and Duane (Gus) Giese of Mayville. Rodney is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessie) Liegl, Danielle Jo (Matt) DuFrane, Chad Giese, Corissa (J.J.) Finley, Tyler (fiancée Leah) Sternat, Erica (Dan) Bartsch, Cody Mazzolari, Alia (special friend Sean) Mazzolari, Brady Haugen, Kendra (Dominic) Malkowski, Stacey (James) Brady, Brock (fiancée Kasey) Hanke, and Bryce (special friend Rachelle) Hanke; his great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mathew, William, Jackson, Adela, Emerson, Preston, Collin (ChiChi), Rory, Dax, Victoria, Declan, and two new additions coming soon. Mae V. Schraufnagel, 94, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville. Mae was born the daughter of Albert and Frances (Hartman) Pieper on May 24, 1926, in Mayville. Mae was united in marriage to Linus A. Schraufnagel on June 2, 1945, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Mae was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. She worked for the Mayville Shoe Factory, Naber’s Grocery Store, Kollman’s Korner and the Wild Goose Inn. In her spare time, Mae enjoyed playing cards with family and friends especially playing “Hearts” with the great grandkids. She also liked casino games and really enjoyed playing the “Grasshopper” game with the great-grandkids. Mae will fondly be remembered for her canning and cooking skills especially her frosted cut-out cookies, blueberry torte and apple slices. Wilbur was born on April 5, 1930, to Fredrick and Dorathea (Hoffman) Pamperin. He was united in marriage to Jeanine Schaumberg on February 23, 1952, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. Wilbur was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. He farmed in the Town of Theresa, and enjoyed traveling with his wife, watching the Packers and the Brewers play, and polka music. Most of all Wilbur loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his six children, Judy (Jim) Thull, Cindy (Gary) Fredrick, David (Eileen) Pamperin, Karen (John) Buschman, Roger (Tina) Pamperin and Larry Pamperin; his grandchildren, Jennifer Dippel, Jacob Thull, Julie Korth, JoAnne Gerhartz, Jonathan Thull, Angie Krizan, Christopher Fredrick, Troy Fredrick, Jason Pamperin, Michael Pamperin, Amy Vindhurst, Katelyn Buschman, Kristy Buschman, Brenna Pamperin, Tyler Pamperin, Hailey Pamperin; and many great-grandchildren. (Farrington) Kropf, 95, of Port Washington passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 at Harbor Cove in Port Washington. She was born on August 21, 1925, to Elmer and Victoria (Butter) Farrington in Mayville. On October 5, 1950, she was united in marriage to Virgil “Bill” Kropf. Mary was an educator for over 60 years in Wisconsin, including Mayville, Milwaukee, and other various school districts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waupun. Mary enjoyed traveling and photography. She also enjoyed following her former students over the years. Those Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory include nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil “Bill” Kropf and four sisters, Carrole (Arnold) Malterer, Jean (Kenneth) Groth, Harriet (William) Volkmann, and June (Robert) Grunke. Patricia Lynn Becker, a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at her home. Patricia was born March 23, 1964, to Herbert J. and Joan (Kelly) Becker. Patricia was child number seven out of eleven children. All the values of being raised in a large farming family were evident throughout her life. Patty’s love for her Savior, Jesus, was shown over her lifetime. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodland, and continued worship as a lifelong member at St. John’s. She was a 1982 graduate of Hustisford High School and a 1988 graduate of UW-Stout. Patricia taught as a Family and Consumer Education teacher in the Gilman, Sussex-Hamilton, and Hartford School District. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, entering her baked items in Dodge and Waukesha County Fair, making her famous dinner rolls, and reading. She also did special projects with all her nieces and nephews, such as backyard camping and kite flying. Patty continued to teach outside the classroom as she shared her baking skills with young aspiring bakers, (her nieces) teaching them how to bake Irish Soda Bread, monster cookies, and lemon meringue pie. She also taught everyone she encountered how to put the needs of others first. Patricia is survived by her siblings, Cynthia Zills, Herbert A. Becker III, Debra (Chris) Neitzel, Linda (Dave) Rader, Timothy (Lisa) Becker, David Becker, Jeffery (Charlene) Becker, Sarah Becker, Lisa (Greg) Mueller, Rebecca Becker, and all of her nieces and nephews who meant so much to her. Patricia was also a God-Mother to Christian Neitzel, Katelyn Mueller, Kimberly Zills, and Angela Rader. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Zills. Riley Scott Gable, 21, of Horicon slid into Heaven peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020. He was born on February 18, 1999, in Hartford, to parents Melissa (Peters) Holub and Robert Gable. Riley instantly brought joy to his family’s life with his easy smile, fun-loving nature, and penchant for always being dirty and disorganized. Known for his wicked sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh, Riley was the king of one-liners. Riley was generous with his time and a good listener when people needed to talk. One of Riley’s best qualities was his big heart and overwhelming capacity to love his family, including his grandparents Nan and John with whom he resided at the time of his death and had a special relationship. Riley loved baking and game nights with his Mom, fishing and hunting with his Dad, playing basketball with his sister Julia, and watching out for his little sister Alli. He also played soccer every summer and developed his joy of wrestling at an early age. Riley wrestled and played football at Horicon High School, where he graduated in 2017, thanks to the support of his coach and mentor, Lucas Kern. While in school, Riley volunteered with special needs students and developed a unique relationship with several of the students which was very meaningful to him. After graduation, Riley was employed at various local companies as a laser operator and welder. In September 2017, he experienced the greatest joy in his life when his daughter, Odyssah Gable, was born. Riley loved Odyssah with all his heart, loved being a father, and doted on her constantly. Riley is survived by his daughter, Odyssah; mother, Melissa (Peters) Holub and father, Robert (Chastity) Gable; and sisters, Julia (Jamie) Rahn and Alli Gable. He also leaves his grandparents, John and Nan Gable and Al Vogel; special friend, BriAnna Fleming; aunt and uncle, Lynn (Gable) and Matt Peters, uncle James Whittamore, uncle and aunt, Scott and Amy Whittamore, and many other family members and loved ones. Kevin Wulff left this world for the next in the early morning on Friday, October, 23, 2020, while hospitalized at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee. Born on July 8, 1960 to Eldon and Arlene Wulff, Kevin grew up on the family farm in the Town of Wayne in Washington County. While in high school, Kevin was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. With God’s help, he made the most of his time on earth, living the challenging life of a farmer while sharing his sense of humor, his kindness, and his faith with all he met, especially those who were in need. His body was weary, battling the rheumatoid arthritis all these years, so much so that it could no longer fight the infections that had overtaken his body, and his heavenly Father said, “It’s time to come home, my beloved son.” He leaves behind many who mourn his loss, not only here in the United States but also in Australia, and the Philippines, including dear cousins and other relatives, friends, and special neighbors, his mother, four sisters, one sister-in-law, their spouses, children, and grandchildren. Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Scott; his father; and his beloved fiancé, Marilou, of the Philippines. Kevin would also want his Mayville friends and farming community to know how much he valued them, their friendships, and the way they were always there for him when he was in need. A 1978 graduate of Kewaskum High School, Kevin became a skilled woodworker, carpenter, and mechanic, but farming was his passion so Kevin enrolled in the UW-Madison Agricultural Short course, and became a successful farm operator of both the home farm and his own farm on HWY AY in the Town of Theresa in Dodge County. His beef cattle were sought out by buyers in search of high quality steaks, and his corn crops were the envy of his neighbors. At the same time, most who knew Kevin were unaware of his work in the Philippines where he began what eventually became known as Christians Who Care, a small number of like-minded people who currently bring the gospel and a hot meal to over 500 children living in severe poverty unknown to us in the United States. Through Kevin’s ongoing support, these children are fed, both physically and spiritually. Similarly, Kevin’s support allowed many to receive medical treatment that otherwise would not have been available to them. Paul “Polack” G. Schalinske, 60, of Farmersville passed away on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at his home. Paul was born the son of Charles and Carolyn (Beilke) Schalinske on January 9, 1960. He was married to Annette Kollmansberger on November 10, 1980. They were married for 17 years. Paul was a master mechanic and was last employed at Todd’s Auto in Lomira. Paul loved the outdoors and his property. He also loved fixing things especially cars. He enjoyed his gun collection and the opportunity to socialize with friends over a beer. He always liked to laugh and joke around and was the life of the party. Paul is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Gordy Allison) Steger of Mayville and Jessica (Josh) Daniels of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his mother, Carolyn Schalinske of Juneau; his grandchildren, Courtney (Nick MacNeill) Steger, Whitney Steger, Brady Steger, Noah Daniels, Brayden Daniels, and AnnaSophia Daniels; his great-grandchildren, Carson, Annabella, and Jaxton MacNeill; his siblings, Mary (Mark Plank) Schalinske of Beaver Dam and Donald Schalinske of Beaver Dam; his niece, Alicia Schalinske; his longtime good friend, Jarred Steger; his beloved cat, Wild Thing; further survived by other relatives and friends.
