Dale C. Oestreich, 43, of Campbellsport passed away after a life-long battle with heart problems on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at UW Hospital in Madison. Dale was born the son of Edward and Cathy (Walther) Oestreich on March 29, 1977, in Beaver Dam. He was a graduate of Dodgeland High School. Dale worked as a Correctional Officer for Dodge County for 10 years. He was proud of his profession and had a special love for his work family who were always there to support him. They spent many hours together bowling and attending sporting events. Dale loved to help others and he volunteered at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Special Olympics, and the Dodge County Antique Power Club. Dale loved playing card games with his fiancé, Brenda, and the kids and did so often while camping at Indian Trails Campground. He enjoyed a good fire and conversation with the neighbors; the camper was his “happy place.” He rescued many dogs over the years and cherished his beloved princess, LeeLu, who was a faithful companion to him. Dale loved to watch any football game but loved to watch the Packers with his BFF Jen. He lived for Friday night football games at the high school. His favorite player was his nephew, Nate. He always wanted Nate to go “pro” so he could watch him on TV! Dale was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, where he enjoyed watching his niece, Abby, sing. Dale loved to go to the casino and play the slot machines; he also enjoyed playing bingo with Brenda and the Bingo Girls! He had a passion for driving fast and loved his Ford Mustang, ‘Ruby.’ Family was important to Dale and game night and dinners with his parents were routine. Dale would often get a call from his dad saying “Hey Lumpy wanna get breakfast?” When his mom would call him, Dale would say... “Hi Ma how are you?” As a young man, he cherished the time spent with his cousins ‘12 ounces at a time’. Dale is survived by his loving fiancé, Brenda Genz of Campbellsport; Brenda’s children, Gracie, Zachary, and Phoebe Genz; his parents, Edward and Cathy Oestreich of Juneau; his brother, Daniel (Melissa) Oestreich of Juneau; his niece, Abby Oestreich; his nephew, Nathan Oestreich; his grandmother; his fur baby, Leelu; further survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle. Brenda and the Oestreich family would like to thank UW Hospital doctors and nurses who cared for Dale during the many years of his difficult journey. A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Please wear casual attire, as Dale will be dressed in his favorite white t-shirt and sweat pants. A private family funeral will follow the visitation with the Rev. Justin Lopina presiding. The daughter of Christian and Alma (Giese) Dobberpuhl was born March 9, 1941, in Hartford. On February 4, 1967, she married Gerald Funk at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Green Bay. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Town of Pittsfield. Darlene worked as a parole agent at the Green Bay Reformatory, as a counselor at the Brown County Youth Home, and as a counselor for the Pulaski Community School District, until retiring in 2003. She had been an active and faith filled member of Peace Lutheran Church in Kunesh, where she sang in the choir and participated in various volunteer ministries. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking, skiing, boating, and traveling. Darlene was a kind and generous person who was always attentive to the needs of others. She leaves behind her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Kristen Funk of Twin Cities, MN, and Stacie (Brian) Gates of Osceola; five grandchildren, Joshua, Elise, Anna, Talia, and Karis Gates; two brothers, Del (Jane) Dobberpuhl of Prescott, AZ and Dave (Nancy) Dobberpuhl of Fairbanks, AK; one sister, Debbie (Frank) Koch of Mayville; Jerry’s siblings, Beverly Funk of Green Bay, Diane (Gary) Dudzik of Krakow, Daniel Funk of Milwaukee; as well as nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Gabby was born the son of Arnold and Josephine (Vollmer) Collien on September 10, 1945, in Fond du Lac. Gabby was a 1963 graduate of Mayville High School. He served his country faithfully in the US Army during Vietnam stationed in Korea. Upon returning from service Gabby continued his employment at Mayville Metal and would continue until his retirement after 43 years. He was united in marriage to Lori Schellpfeffer on July 18, 1997, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Gabby was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville, as well as a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his family. Gabby also belonged to the Mayville Golf Club, Ducks Unlimited, Horicon Marsh Bowman, and the Mayville Gun Club. He also was active in his community and was a member of the Kekoskee Fire Department. Gabby was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, sturgeon spearing, and in his younger days trapping with his father. He enjoyed spending time up north in Eagle River and Boulder Junction. He had a real passion for all things sports. He spent many hours watching and attending Packer games, Badger hockey and football, and especially his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. He passed down a love for the Hawks to his special great nephews and niece. One of his favorite pastimes was attending all of his nephews and nieces sporting events. Whether it was hockey, softball, baseball, football, or soccer, he was always there. Gabby always enjoyed being on the move, whether it was a trip to the Horicon Marsh, flying across the ocean to Australia, or taking a cruise to Alaska. Gabby is survived by his wife Lori of Kekoskee; his siblings, Charlotte Feucht of Waupun, Mabel (Wayne) Billington of Mayville, Luann (Mick) Kallas of Eagle River, and Susan (Dave) Herman of West Bend; his mother-in-law, Marlene Schellpfeffer of Mayville; his siblings in-law, Cindy (Mark) Mansueto, Todd (Shelly) Schellpfeffer, and Greg (Tammy) Schellpfeffer all of Mayville. He is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gabby’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his Baggin’ For A Cure family who supported him throughout his many years of fighting the battle against cancer. Edwin A. Birr, 100 years, 3 months and 12 days old, of Watertown, and formally of Mayville, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Highland House in Watertown. Edwin A. Birr was born the son of Richard and Ella (Spars) Birr on December 22, 1919, in Mayville. He was united in marriage to Elsie Birr on June 28, 1947, in Mayville. Edwin is a WWII veteran that served his country in Italy and Africa from 1940-1945. Upon returning home, he went to work at Maysteel for 45 years then Gleason Reel for 20 years. He also was a bartender for 30 years and then after retiring he was a school crossing guard and lawn mower/snow remover for 20 years. He was a member of Legion Post #69 in Mayville for 75 years serving as part of the drill and firing squads. Edwin is survived by his children, David (Roseanne) Birr of Mayville and Beth (Daniel) Zastrow of Watertown; three grandchildren, Eric (Becky) Birr, Anthony (Johanna) Birr and Branden Zastrow, two great-grandchildren; Gavin and Madison Birr. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsie; one sister, Marion; and one brother, Clarence. He will be greatly missed for his contagious smile, laughter and stories told.
