Helen Griffin Heinrich, 92, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020, at Marvin’s Manor in Waupun. She was born on July 30, 1927, to Roy E. Griffin and Louise (Schenck) Griffin in Windsor, IL. She married William C. (Bill) Heinrich on October 15, 1949, in Chicago, IL. They relocated to Bill’s hometown of Mayville, and embraced life in the community during their 39 years of marriage. Helen was a registered nurse for over 50 years who served her community in many capacities, including as a member of the Mayville School Board, Mayville Library Board and Mid-Wisconsin Library Board Trustee, along with many years of service as the Mayville City Health Officer. Outside of her time with family, the greatest joys in Helen’s life were playing cards (bridge) with her friends for many years, reading, and listening to loons during vacations to northern Wisconsin. She is survived by her daughter Christyne Heinrich and her son Kurt (Carolyn) Heinrich; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who adored her. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Heinrich; her brothers, Everett (Jack) Griffin, Raymond Griffin and Donald Griffin, and sisters, Beverly Radloff and Jean Lowry. A private family service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Sara Gillespie officiating. Carl D. Mahnke, 85, of Mayville, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau. Carl was born the son of Adolph and Elizabeth (Uhl) Mahnke on June 29, 1934, in Mayville. Carl honorably served his country in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Janet Kahlhamer on June 28, 1958, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. Carl had retired from Metalcraft of Mayville after 45 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. Carl also belonged to the Mayville American Legion Post #69 and was also on the Mayville Fire Department from 1968 to 1984. He also volunteered his time with the Mayville Food Pantry for many years. In his spare time, Carl enjoyed hunting, bowling, and stamp collecting. Carl also had a soft spot for dogs and enjoyed all of the family dogs especially Zoe. He also loved spending time with his family and his friends and his best friend of 40 plus years Frank Peterson. Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet of Mayville; his daughters, Susan (Dale) Schwantes of Horicon and Nadeane (Guy) Mattson of Mayville; his grandchildren, Anthony Schwantes, David (Jennifer) Schwantes, and Amanda (Mike) Sullivan; his great-grandchildren, Caroline Schwantes, Jefferey Schwantes, Amber Schwantes, Finnigan Sullivan, and Corbin Sullivan; his sisters, Phyllis Poppe of Watertown and Alice Lebakken of Galesville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor and Adolph; sister, Marion; and best friend, Frank Peterson. Celebration Of Life: Saturday, June 6 beginning at 1 p.m. Kenneth Eugene Immel, 41, of Mount Calvary, passed away unexpectedly in a construction accident on Wednesday, May 20, in Horicon. Kenny was born January 17, 1979, in Fond du Lac, to Alan and Sandy (Roth) Immel. He was a 1997 graduate of Campbellsport High School and attended Marian University for 1-1/2 years before deciding to join the workforce. In June 1999, Kenny began his journey with C.D. Smith Construction. It was evident how much he enjoyed his job, was a master of his craft and a jack of all trades. In August 2005 Kenny met his soulmate, Jennifer Philipsky and they were united in marriage on May 9, 2009 in Brownsville. Throughout their 11 years of marriage, they enjoyed life to the fullest. Kenny's love for the outdoors was quickly instilled in Jennifer and they enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping together. Additional hobbies included darts, softball, home projects and traveling. Kenny's love for his children was like no other. He provided them with the greatest advice and always showed them how to work hard for what they want. He lived each day to be the greatest role model and always prayed that he was able to provide the best life possible for them. Kenny's love for life was displayed in all that he did. His infectious smile could light up a room and he would ALWAYS be the life of any gathering. His sense of humor could brighten anyone's day and we will NEVER forget his love for singing, especially the highly requested "Great Balls of Fire". Kenny had a deep passion for baseball and coached for many years. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone perfect their skills. He would go above and beyond to help others and NEVER expected anything in return. Kenny was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend to many. Kenny is survived by his wife, Jennifer; three children, Kaitlyn (special friend Dylan Courtney), Kenneth Jr. and Dylan (special friend Delaney Zimmel); his parents, Alan and Sandy Immel; parents-in-law, Thomas and Beverly Philipsky; grandmothers, Beatrice Mueller and Lucille Kuen. Valene Kay Goss, 57, of Mayville, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at her home. Valene was born the daughter of Roy A. and Marlene (Zilisch) Goss on December 14, 1962, in Beaver Dam. She was a graduate of Mayville High School and then was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a cashier at Walmart. Valene was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. She enjoyed being with family, loved her coffee, and liked reading, cooking and trying new recipes. Valene is survived by her four children, Linda Bantleon of Kentucky, Dale (Leeann) Russ of Ohio, Douglas Bottine of Neenah and Joseph Niesz of Mayville, two grandchildren, Carter and Conner Russ; brothers, Alan (Johnna) Goss of Neenah and Mark Goss of Mayville. Marcia A. (Del Ponte) Milewski, 87, of Miller Pointe Nursing Home, Mandan, ND, passed away on May 15, 2020, from complications of surgery. Marcia was born June 4, 1932, in Knowles, to Battiste ‘Tieste’ and Wilhelmina ‘Billie’ (Weber) Del Ponte. She graduated from Mayville High School in 1949. On November 26, 1949, she married John F. Milewski in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. Marcia was employed as a waitress, and later for many years at Amity Leather in West Bend. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Iron River, John’s original home. While there she was a member of the Iron River Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed all the charitable work they accomplished. Her favorite time was spent making many blueberry pies for the Lions Club 4th of July event each year. Marcia also enjoyed working in her gardens, both her beautiful flower beds and the vegetable garden she and her husband planted each year. They took great pride in their harvests, along with canning and freezing the results. Marcia was a voracious reader, loved putting puzzles together, and completing word search puzzles. Prior to moving to Mandan, Marcia was a resident at Golden Manor Basic Care Assisted Living in Steele, ND. She was well known at both places for her spunk and sparkle. Survivors include three children, Dave (Sharon Waas) of Mayville, Beth (Jeff Lauters) of Steele, ND, and Jean (Bill Sommers) of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Tim (Nicole) Lauters, Wanda (Travis) Thomsen, Tasha (Aaron) Saraurer, Shaun Milewski, Casey (Tom) Fechter, Amber (Nate) Reynolds, Mitchell (Brandy) Dreher, John Mike (Sara) Milewski, Jen (Ben) Maschke; 14 great-grandchildren, Jamie and Garrett Lauters, Tanner and Paige Milewski, Emelia and Madelynn Maschke, Mason and Riley Hill, Taylor and Teresa (Reese) Fechter, Elise and Henry Reynolds, Fritz and Adalee Dreher. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Milewski of Faribault, MN, and sister, Diane (Roger) Zangl of LeRoy, and sister-in-law, Pat Del Ponte of Knowles. Rose M. Wald, 94, of Iron Ridge, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Marvin's Manor in Horicon. She was born the daughter of Edwin and Erna (Meyer) Collien on January 31, 1926, at her family home in Mayville. She was united in marriage with John "Jack" Wald on June 21, 1947, at St. Mary's in Mayville. Rose helped her husband as his bookkeeper for his cabinet business and also worked for Purity Cheese in Mayville besides raising her four sons. Rose was very involved at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Woodland, where she did many readings and served on the Altar Guild. Rose loved baking, especially with her grandchildren and was famous for her butterhorns. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed playing games with them when they were young. She loved to play bingo at Marvin's Manor and liked doing their exercise class. Rose will be missed by her four sons, John and April of Hartford, Tom and Kathy of Madison, Jerry and Diane of Mayville and Jim and Linda of Mayville; eight grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Matt (Jessica), Ben (Anna), Jeremy, Kristin (Jesse) Eichorst, Ariel (special friend Josh), and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Aleaya Neu and Jaedyn Neu, children of Kristin; sisters and brothers, Helen Beck, Raymond (Joanne) Collien, Delores Neumeyer and Melvin "Cookie" Collien; and sister-in-law, Lucille Collien. Rose is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norman A. ‘Gabby’ Collien, 74, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his home in Kekoskee. Gabby was born the son of Arnold and Josephine (Vollmer) Collien on September 10, 1945, in Fond du Lac. Gabby was a 1963 graduate of Mayville High School. He served his country faithfully in the US Army during Vietnam stationed in Korea. Upon returning from service Gabby continued his employment at Mayville Metal and would continue until his retirement after 43 years. He was united in marriage to Lori Schellpfeffer on July 18, 1997, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Gabby was member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville as well as a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his family. Gabby also belonged to the Mayville Golf Club, Ducks Unlimited, Horicon Marsh Bowman, and the Mayville Gun Club. He also was active in his community and was a member of the Kekoskee Fire Department. Gabby was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, sturgeon spearing, and in his younger days trapping with his father. He enjoyed spending time up north in Eagle River and Boulder Junction. He had a real passion for all things sports. He spent many hours watching and attending Packer games, Badger hockey and football, and especially his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. He passed down a love for the Hawks to his special great nephews and niece. One of his favorite pastimes was attending all of his nephews and nieces sporting events. Whether it was hockey, softball, baseball, football, or soccer, he was always there. Gabby always enjoyed being on the move, whether it was a trip to the Horicon Marsh, flying across the ocean to Australia, or taking a cruise to Alaska. Gabby is survived by his wife, Lori of Kekoskee; his siblings, Charlotte Feucht of Waupun, Mabel (Wayne) Billington of Mayville, Luann (Mick) Kallas of Eagle River, and Susan (Dave) Herman of West Bend; his mother-in-law, Marlene Schellpfeffer of Mayville; his siblings-in-law, Cindy (Mark) Mansueto, Todd (Shelly) Schellpfeffer, and Greg (Tammy) Schellpfeffer all of Mayville. Wilfred A. Lehner, 92, of Kekoskee passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Wilfred was born the son of Alvin and Leona (Manthey) Lehner on September 30, 1927, in LeRoy. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII stationed in Hawaii. He was united in marriage to June Quinn on September 10, 1955, in Ripon. Wilfred was a skilled welder and worked for United Pipeline in Beloit and then went on to own and operate Oak Stone Corporation in Oakfield with his brother Harold. After retirement Wilfred enjoyed helping his community in Kekoskee and worked in recycling. Wilfred was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy as well as a member of the Lomira American Legion Post #347. He was also a member of the Operating Engineering Union Local #139. Wilfred is survived by his wife, June of Kekoskee; his daughter, Jody (Terry Wolter) Schroeder of Lomira; his grandsons, Jason (Melissa) Schroeder of Lomira, Jesse (Sara) Schroeder of Oakfield, and Josey Schroeder of Fond du Lac; his great-grandchildren, Morgan and Molly; his sisters, Nyla (Jerry) Gillich of Menomonee Falls and Arlene (Tom) Bobb of Menomonee Falls; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean M. (Dewitz) Binkus, 70, passed away on May 13, 2020, in West Palm Beach, FL. She beat cancer but never fully recovered. Jean was born on December 13, 1949, in Fond du Lac the daughter of Walter and Marcella (Franke) Dewitz. Jean was a 1968 Horicon High School graduate. She married Rich Binkus New Years Eve 1999 in Beaver Dam. She lived in Beaver Dam, then moved to FL for retirement. Jean loved traveling with her husband, Rich. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards with the grandchildren and Mahjong with the ladies of IBIS. Jean is survived and will be missed deeply by husband, Rich Binkus of West Palm Beach, FL; and her sister, Sandi (Larry) Kohrt of Mayville; her two children, daughter, Jackie (Chad) Westover of Princeton; and son, Dusty Bensley of Waupun; and her two granddaughters, Jasymn Bensley and Alyssa Westover and two step-grandsons, Michael Sutton and Aaron Westover. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, James Dewitz; and nephew, Travis Oresnik and niece, Tammy Warden.
