Sommercorn, 94, of Beaver Dam, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at Prairie Ridge in Beaver Dam. Beulah Lorraine Sommercorn was born on October 18, 1925, in Beaver Dam, to the late Elmer and Veronica (Dollenjack) Wendt.  After graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1943, Beulah worked at Monarch Range in Beaver Dam until 1949. On May 7, 1949, she was united in marriage with Fredrich J. Sommercorn at St. Peter's rectory in Beaver Dam. Beulah also worked at Green Giant and Wisconsin Cheeseman and then in the deli at Piggly Wiggly until she retired in 1987. Beulah was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Beaver Dam and she enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels. She was also a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam. Survivors include her children and grandchildren, Charles (Linda) Sommercorn of Green Oaks, IL, and their children Michael and Jenna, James (Marnie) Sommercorn, of Scotsdale, AZ, John (Rachel) Sommercorn of Appleton, and their children, Sara and Ryan, and Robert (Amy) Sommercorn of Beaver Dam, and their children, Alex and Hannah; two sisters-in-law, Helen Waldera and Joan Bachhuber; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fritz. Friends and family will gather at the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish – Mission Hall on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Roemer, 75 of Hartford passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Mike was born on March 19, 1944 in Hartford to Margaret L. (Lohr) and Donald C. Roemer. He graduated from Hartford High School. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mayville American Legion-Post #69 for 50 years. Mike was united in marriage to Janice L. Machmueller on November 27, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville. Mike worked for RuMar Manufacturing as head of maintenance in Mayville for over 35 years. Mike enjoyed woodworking, counted cross stitching, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Roemer; dear son, Richard C. (Julie) Roemer of Horicon; cherished grandchildren, Cody Michael Roemer of Horicon and Marcia (Todd) Schabel of Appleton. Beatrice Joyce (Torke) Funke was born December 24, 1939, at the home of her parents located on Lake Church Rd. Belgium. Her parents were Orlo O. and Olive (Didier) Torke. Bea attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School in Lake Church and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1957. She graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with majors in English and history in 1961. She earned a Master of Arts Degree in reading on 1987 and Curriculum and Instruction Certification (K-12) in 1987 from Cardinal Stritch College. Bea taught third grade at St. Mary and St. Peter Catholic Schools for five years, substitute taught at Port Washington schools for many years, and retired in 2004 after serving as the Reading Specialist for the New Holstein Public School District. Bea married Thomas R. Funke in 1961. She is survived by three children, Lara Angela Funke (Jeffrey) Nothem of Mayville, Michael Thomas Funke of Las Vegas, and Martha Susan Carter of New Hope, MN. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Steffen Clavette, Marissa, Andrew, Julia and Hannah Nothem and Helena and Gianna Carter; brothers, John D. and Joseph F. Torke, both of Port Washington; sister-in-law, Nancy (Edward) Funke Snyder of Anaheim, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; her parents; brother, Oliver Torke, sisters June Torke Domoe and Beata Schueller Janty; sister-in-law, Arleen (Bostwick) Torke and brother-in-law, Kenneth J. Schuller. Bea maintained memberships with international, state and local reading associations, Luxembourg American Cultural Center, Ozaukee County Area Retired Educators’ Association, Riveredge Nature Center, Port Washington Woman’s Club, Tri County New Horizon Band, St. Joseph Parish Choir, and the Ozaukee Chorus. Music was of special interest for Bea. For 15 years, she conducted a guitar group called Friendship People at St. Mary’s Church, Port Washington which also provided music at about 300 wedding services. After she retired, Bea learned to play the flute and played with the New Horizon’s Band and sang with The Funshine Gals. She also played the string bass with St. Joseph’s Choir. She taught guitar to many students at her home as well as at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Bea was close to her family and especially treasured taking grandchildren to museums and special events. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage at Rock Dam in Willard. She traveled Alaska and Greece and especially liked the trips to Luxembourg, Norway and St. Petersburg, Russia. Visitation will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Grafton from 9 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 1619 Washington Ave., Grafton. Father Michael Barrett will preside over the Mass. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at New Holstein City Cemetery. While he left this world unexpectedly and far too soon, he passed away while doing something he loved: working on his sailboat, preparing for his next adventure. Ronald was born the son of Earl and Bertha (Pitz) Carpenter on February 4, 1950, in Aurora, IL. He attended Marmion Military Academy High School in Aurora, IL, St. Norbert’s College in West De Pere, for his undergraduate degree, and UW-Whitewater, for his M.B.A. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Esther Byrne of New Berlin, on June 23, 1973. Ronald was a software engineer, and worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for many years before contracting at several other companies in southeastern Wisconsin. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He retired early, at the age of 52, to care for his wife full-time in their home, who was having increasing difficulties due to her long-time battle with multiple sclerosis. Ron had many hobbies, including travelling, salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, sailing, hunting, camping, and home brewing craft beers. His real love was for his wife and family. He was a kind and devoted husband, father, and friend to all who met him. He adored his grandchildren and was fiercely proud of them, and spent much of his free time with them doing outdoor activities. He had a down-to-earth, calming presence. He will be deeply missed by so many, but we find hope and solace in knowing that he and Mary are together, and at peace. He is survived by his children, Julie (Donald) Carpenter Foss and Kristen (Kris) Wampole; his sisters, Sharon (Larry) Exline and Shirley Carpenter; his grandchildren, Aria Carpenter, Brayden Wampole and Madison Wampole; and numerous close relatives and dear friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 W. She was born November 9,1929, to Lester and Celia (Schmeling) DeMund. Phyllis was a beloved wife of Wilbert for 50 years and a loving mom and grandmother. She was a graduate of Hustisford High School. Phyllis was a member of St. Malachy Sacred Heart Parish all her life. She kept herself busy as a volunteer for Bethesda in Horicon. She was also an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She will be remembered by her friends as a social butterfly. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Patricia (Richard) Hill, and her son, Michael (Susan) Rutz; her grandchildren, Zachary and Lexana. Also, surviving are other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert in 2000. Zuelsdorf, 69, of Mayville, unexpectedly, passed away October 14, 2019, at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc. She was born September 1, 1950, in Waukesha, the daughter of Edgar and Kathryn (Atkinson) Price.  She was raised in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha High School (now Waukesha South).  She graduated from Doctors Hospital School of X-Ray and was a X-ray technician. She married James Zuelsdorf on August 1, 1970, in Waukesha, and then made Mayville their home.  With no opportunities to be an X-ray technician in Mayville, she worked as a clerk at the Coast-to-Coast  and later Ace Hardware stores.  She also had the privilege to be hired at St. John’s Lutheran School in Mayville.  First as an aide, then after she completed more schooling, she became the four-year-old Pre-K teacher.  She also developed the three-year-old Pre-K program. She served there a total of 31 years.  She drew students from as far away as Oakfield, Horicon, and Hartford. Beyond loving her immediate and extended families, she loved each and every child she had the honor to teach. Since leaving St. John’s, she has spent her time spoiling her three grandchildren.  She fiercely loved her family and would do anything for them.  She was close to her sisters and their families, spending time at the Price family camp at Seul Choix Point, Michigan. She was most happy when she was surrounded by those she loved. Leslie is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Zuelsdorf; her daughter, Lisa (Ed) Hirnschall and their son Noah; her son, Michael Zuelsdorf and his daughters, Madeline and Charlize; her sisters, Nannette (Ben) Loucks, Renee (Tim Sr.) Harris and their children, and Michelle (Gary) Metzger and their daughter; her mother-in-law, Rosemond Zuelsdorf; brother-in-law, Thomas (Patty) Zuelsdorf and their children and sisters-in-law, Jill (Craig) Borgardt and their son, and Heidi Luehring and her daughter; her aunt, Nancy Atkinson and three cousins, Mary, Cathy, and Jenny; her best friend, Sue (Roger) Williams, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Jerome Zuelsdorf; nephew, John Borgardt; and brother-in-law, Lester Luehring; and uncle, John Atkinson. Bunkoske, 93, of Horicon passed away on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at Marvin’s Manor in Horicon. Mildred was born the daughter of William F. and Elsie E. (Ladwig) Keel on May 23, 1926, in the Town of Lowell. She was a 1944 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On June 10, 1950, Mildred was united in marriage to Harry R. Bunkoske. Mildred had worked for over 25 years at West Bend Co. where she wrapped covers for the company and she enjoyed telling people jokingly that she was a ‘West Bend Co. Cover Girl’. She was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon where she was a part of the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, Mildred enjoyed baking, cooking, and crafting. Mildred adored her grand and great-grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. Mildred is survived by her children, Susan (Martin) Weiss of Beaver Dam and Thomas (LuAnn) Bunkoske of Horicon; her grandchildren, Carrie (Dean) Twardokus of Mayville, Kevin Bunkoske of Horicon, Kyle Bunkoske, of Sun Prairie, Michele (Tommy) Arteme of Cape Girardeau, MO, Monica (Mike) Smith of Ham Lake, MN, and Douglas Weiss of Beaver Dam; her great-grandchildren, Trent Twardokus, Nathan (Jessica) Twardokus, Matthew Smith, Emily Smith, Drake Arteme, and Maverick Arteme; her brother-in-law, Wayne Bunkoske. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Kienow, Elaine (John) Schmid, Lois (Earl) Petry, Ruth Yuenger, Mary Ellen (Clarence) Stange, and brothers, William Keel and Edwin (Geraldine) Keel; also two infant sisters.
