He was born on September 22,1950 to Conrad Wild and Marie (Newhauser) Compton in West Allis. From an early age he was raised by his Dad, Robert Compton along with his Mom, Marie Compton. He graduated from Central High School in West Allis. On April 4, 1981, he married the love of his life, Christine Buerger in West Allis. He recently retired from API Heat Transfer in Iron Ridge, where he was a truck driver for many years. Conrad was a member of the Woodland Fire Department for 32 years. During that time, he was a Fire Inspector for 20 years and served as Assistant Fire Chief for 17 years. He was a First Responder for the Iron Ridge Fire Department for 25 years and also for the Neosho Fire Department for more than 15 years. Conrad enjoyed serving the community as a firefighter and spoke often of the many years he was an active member. In Conrad’s early years he enjoyed racing cars and made many lifelong friends. In more recent years he enjoyed watching Nascar races and any number of other “car” shows, as his granddaughter, Ella, calls them. Recently he took Ella to her first car race at the Beaver Dam Raceway and she wasn’t even bored. There was nothing Conrad enjoyed more than being a grandpa to his two grandkids, Ella and Katie. They had many great adventures at the zoo, going to the movies, and spending time at the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, to name a few. Conrad was a familiar face in the community and he always had time to talk with those he saw when he was out and about. It seemed as if you couldn’t go anywhere with Conrad without him knowing someone and stopping to catch up. He had a great sense of humor and was fond of telling jokes, some of which were definitely “Dad” jokes. While raising his two daughters, he would often don a straw hat and tell them, “You know, I once swam half way across Lake Michigan but then I got a cramp and had to swim back.” He has passed that bit on to his granddaughters albeit without the straw hat as that was lost some time ago. Hahn, 92, of Theresa passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at Hope Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lomira. Marvin was born the son of William and Rosina (Brummond) Hahn on February 24, 1927, in the Township of Theresa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa, where he remained a member his entire life. On September 18, 1948, he married Ardis Justman at Zion Lutheran Church in the Township of Theresa. The majority of Marvin’s life was spent farming in the Town of Theresa. He served as a board member of the Theresa Mutual Insurance Company for 45 years, spending 43 of those years serving as treasurer. Marvin was over a 70-year member of the Theresa Fire Department. He also served on the Theresa Union Cemetery Board for over 52 years. He was a past member of the Theresa Lions, served on the St. Peter’s Church Council, and also sang in the St. Peter’s and Jubilate Choir. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and camping, especially with his grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his sons, Craig (Judy) Hahn of Theresa and James (Sandra) Hahn of Grafton; his son-in-law, Ronald Lisko of Rubicon; his sister-in-law, Bernice Hahn of Mayville; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. His is further survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ardis; his daughter, Debra Lisko; his brother, Melvin and his twin brother, Merlin; two sisters, Vanelda Trott and Adeline Retzlaff; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Hahn. (Kaczmarek) Heimerl , 84, of Lomira was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born on November 24, 1934, to Alfred and Antoinette (Liszewski) Kaczmarek in Milwaukee. Donna graduated from Riverside High School. She worked at Pete’s Bakery in Milwaukee. On June 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to Clarence “Jim” Heimerl Jr. at St. Mary of Czestochowa in Milwaukee. She volunteered various ways at St. Mary’s helping with the rummage sale and serving at funerals. She also worked at the blood drive at the Methodist Church in Lomira. Donna enjoyed reading, puzzles, and her bowling leagues. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. He was born June 23, 1946, the son of Norbert and Dorothy (Boehlen) Wolf. Tony lived his life in Nenno, attending Slinger and Hartford Schools, graduating as part of the Hartford Class of 1964. Tony was a very proud army veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as a semi-truck driver, a welder at Stolper Industries in Menomonee Falls. He worked at Threshold Industries in West Bend, and after 21 years of employment with Maysteel Industries in Allenton, retired as an AutoCAD specialist.  During retirement, Tony worked as a groundskeeper at the Washington County Golf Course and designed for Power Parts International in West Bend. Tony loved golfing, fishing, playing cards, dancing, helping others, and spending his time inventing and creating projects and woodworkings.   He was a 50+ year member of the Allenton Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483, marching in parades and serving as honor guard at local Memorial Day services. Tony was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He was also very proud to be honored as a veteran on the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to Washington DC in October of 2017.     He is survived by his children, Beth (Christopher) Meece of Fox Point, Sarah (Dave) Olds of West Bend, Mark (Tania) Wolf of Mayville and Katy Mihalko of Watertown; his grandchildren, Taylor, Isaac, Quinn, William, Graeson, Hannah, Gillian, Tiegen, Oliver and Adalynn; his step-grandson, Logan (Amanda) Olds; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett; his sisters, Susan Kedinger, Linda Theisen, Ruth Ann (Leo) Wiedmeyer and Joan (Jim) Beck; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Dorothy; his brother, Gerald; and brother-in-laws, Jerry Kedinger and Jim Theisen. Memorial Service:  Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.  Location: St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brownsville Gladys Heimerl, 84, was surrounded with love and family as she entered the gates of heaven on September 9, 2019. A lifelong resident of Brownsville, Gladys was baptized, confirmed, twice wed, and twice widowed under the bell tower of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The youngest of seven children, Gladys was born to Wilhelmina (Kutz) and Louis F. Schultz, Sr. on February 8, 1935. Due to the untimely death of her mother, Gladys was raised by her Aunt Eda (Kutz) and Uncle Hubert Schultz from the age of three. It was in this loving household that her cousins Marion (Pieper) and Marcella (Pade) became “sisters” to Gladys. After graduating from Lomira High School in 1952, Gladys worked as a secretary at the Brownsville Canning Factory. It was there she met and fell in love with John “Jack” Dreymiller of Mayville. They married in 1955 and gave birth to Bruce and Betty. Jack’s work took the family to Beloit, Wisconsin, and then his illness led them to Richmond, VA, for treatment. Upon Jack’s death in 1967, Gladys moved her young family back home to Brownsville. As a faithful servant of the Lord, she served as the caretaker of St. Paul’s school and church. Her duties included cleaning, ringing the church bells for special services and each Saturday night, shoveling snow, the sole altar guild for the congregation, and much more. If you have a baptism napkin imprinted with a gold seashell and three water drops it was most likely created by the hand of our dear Gladys. Gladys will be remembered as an accomplished bowler, seamstress, crochet master, and woman with a thumb so green she could make a stick grow. Each autumn Gladys would be found picking, grading, and bagging apples at Pieper’s Fruit Farm. She thoroughly enjoyed this seasonal career as this is where friends and family gathered to work and play hard together. In 1978, Gladys entered into a new chapter of life as the adored wife of Marvin and matriarch of the large Heimerl family. It was (and continues to be) a real-life fairytale as the two families opened their hearts and arms to embrace the opportunity to become one. Gladys and Marvin enjoyed a life of travel, cribbage, golfing, and planning family get-togethers. Gladys leaves behind this large family to cherish her memory, including seven children, Bruce Dreymiller, Betty (Todd) Matthies, Tom (Dianne) Heimerl, Sandra Schmitz, Gerald (Elise) Heimerl, Jacklyn Ewerdt, and Jodi (James) Drinkard. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Rayno) Schultz and Marlayne (Tony) Testolin, and brother-in-law Milton Heimerl. God blessed Gladys with 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and at least one on the way—but who’s counting? Gladys was preceded in death by her mother and father; Aunt Eda and Uncle Hubert; two husbands, John “Jack” Dreymiller and Marvin J. Heimerl; Norbert Schultz (brother); Norma Erdman (sister); Margaret Schultz (sister); Louis Schultz II (brother); Doris Friday (sister); Rayno Schultz (brother); and her first cousins, Marion Pieper and Marcella Pade. The last years of Gladys’ life was spent under the caring vigil of Betty’s Harbor in West Bend. The attention and love provided by the caretakers was a blessing to Gladys and the entire family. To this team we send a heartfelt shout-out of “Wooo-Hooo!” Sending and receiving cards was her passion. She was a 1947 graduate of Mayville High School. Lorraine was united in marriage to Richard Bauer on October 7, 1950, at St. Andrew in LeRoy. Lorraine had worked at the canning factory in Mayville. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a Christian Mother. In her spare time, Lorraine enjoyed bingo and watching baseball, especially the Milwaukee Brewers. Family was also important to Lorraine and she cherished the time spent with them. Anding on March 2, 1946, in Marshfield. Betty was a secretary for the Mayville School District for 38 years. Betty was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she served on the church council and was a member of the choir and bell choir. She was a member of the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary choir. Betty received the Mayville High School Katie Award and Betty was a huge Mayville sports fan. Music was a lifelong passion, she also loved reading. He was united in marriage to Corinne Hagen on July 24, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woodland. Milton first farmed in Horicon and then in 1972 dairy farmed in Juneau where he continued for the rest of his life and was still driving tractor at the age of 92. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon. Milton and his wife enjoyed dancing, polka music, and travel. Milton was also a man who could fix anything and will be fondly remembered by his family as someone that would lend a hand to anyone in need. Sharon “Smurf” M. (Murphy) Walter, 58, of Theresa found peace on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. She was born on February 19, 1961, to her parents in Milwaukee. Sharon grew up in the Merton area and graduated from Arrowhead High School. On August 3, 1996 she was united in marriage to Kim Walter in Theresa. Together they raised their son. She was a member of the Theresa Women’s Water Barrel Team. Sharon enjoyed gardening, fishing, and going to the races. She will be missed by all who knew her.
