Qualmann, 86, of Fond du Lac and formerly of Mayville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Barbara was born the daughter of Kenneth and Rosella Dixon on August 5, 1932, in Janesville. She was a 1950 graduate of Janesville High School. She attended UW-Madison and finished her degree in library science from UW-Oshkosh. She was married to Phillip Collins in June of 1952. She was later married to Paul Qualmann on February 15, 1975. Barbara along with her husband Paul owned and operated Lake Aire Supper Club in Fond du Lac from 1976 to 1996. Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, crafting and crossword puzzles as well as watching movies. Her true love was being surrounded by her family (and of course cooking for them). She will be remembered as a truly giving and generous person. Barbara is survived by her husband, Paul of Fond du Lac; her three children, Susan (Daniel) Pelkey of Chisholm, MN, Patricia (Larry) Loest of Mayville, and Catherine (Girum) Mistir of Glendale; her siblings: Marilyn McCarthy and Daniel Dixon; brothers-in-law: James (Diane) Qualmann and Glenn Qualmann; grandchildren, Ashley Pelkey (Shawn Lee), Lara Loest, Alyssa (Ronald) Franklin, Tyler Loest, and Caleb Mistir; two great-grandchildren: Trinity Gallagher and Jace Lee; step-grandchildren, Danielle (Buddy) Jensen and Joshua Pelkey; eight step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Phil; sisters-in-law, Carol Dixon and Donna Qualmann; and a brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” McCarthy. A memorial gathering took place at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 4 until 6 p.m. with a short prayer service to conclude the evening at 6 p.m. Inurnment took place at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville. Date:  Saturday, Sept. 21   Time:  10-11am   Place:  Hustisford Fireman's Park Raymond W. Smith of Hustisford peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 30, after a tough six-year battle with dementia. Ray was born in Neda, to Raymond Smith and Dorothy (Simon) Kliefoth on July 27, 1936. On February 14, 1971, he married Carole (Mayhew) Chapman in Rockford, IL. Ray was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, NASCAR and Minnesota Wild. He was also a proud supporter of the Hustisford Falcons and Rock River League baseball, particularly the Husty Astros through the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s, then the Lebanon Whitetails. He donated many hours to running the concession stand at ‘the ballpark’. It was his home away from home. He enjoyed the many friendships that were formed over the years. Ray also enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his family. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Carole; children, Kenneth Chapman of Neosho, Ronald (Lisa) Chapman of Bryson City, NC, Peggy (Mike Margelowsky) Chapman of Grand Marsh, Pamela Smith of Hustisford, Cindy (Dennis) Lagerman of Lomira, Connie (Curt) Knoll of Mayville and Jon (Valerie) Haack of Beaver Dam; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane (Smith) Chapman of Juneau; brother, Donald Kliefoth of Mayville; sisters-in-law, Linda (Mike) Conrad and Micki Kliefoth of Mayville; brothers-in-law, Robert Hartwig of Mayville, Ed Marshall, James (Cheryl) Mayhew Sr. of Oregon, Timm Mayhew of South Byron, and Tom (JoAnne) Mayhew of Hailey, ID; other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in law, Virginia and Willard Mayhew; daughters, Cheryl (Chapman) Shilts and Cheri Haack; daughter-in-law, Jayne (Sturm) Chapman; sisters, Carole Hartwig and Clara Marshall; brother, Gerald Kliefoth; sister-in-law, Sandra Mayhew; and brothers-in-law Wayne Chapman and Dennis Mayhew. The family would like to thank the staff at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitative Care for the wonderful care of Ray for the last six years. The family is planning a Celebration of Life at Hustisford Fireman’s Park on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service. Rev. Paul Hudson officiating. Kenneth John Stahl


Kenneth John Stahl passed away at the Sheridan VA Mountain View Living Center on July 23, 2019. Ken was born September 25, 1938, the son of the late Isidore and Eleanore (Godde) Stahl in West Bend, WI. He attended grade school in Boltonville, and high school in Kewaskum. Ken enlisted in the US Navy serving 1956-1957 on the USS Forrestal CVA-59. Following his military service, he returned to Wisconsin working for West Bend Aluminum. He married Marilyn Resee; they later divorced.

Betty Straub, age 89 of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2019, with her family at her side.Betty was born in Milwaukee on February 14, 1930, to Fred and Meta (nee Rathmann) Stoll. Her family moved to Elmore when she was one-year-old and she lived there until she moved to Campbellsport after her marriage.

Turkiewicz, 42, of Gentle Ben Road, Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2019. Scott was born February 15, 1977, in Waukesha County to David and Carol (Jacobs) Turkiewicz. He married Jennifer Otto on May 8, 1999, in Princeton. Jen and Scott moved to the Tomahawk area in 2002. Scott was employed for the last three years with the Town of Little Rice. Scott was also a well-known daredevil and had performed across the US and Canada crashing over 650 cars. He went by the names of Justin Sayne and Demo Devil. He had worked with the old Joey Chitwood Show which later became the Charlie Belknap Show. He loved to debate politics, vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, hunting, and four wheeling. He was a fan of Alan Kulwicki, Mark Martin, and whatever team Brett Favre was playing for. He also served on the Little Rice Fire Department and was an EMT. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; two children, Matthew and Gracie; his dad, David Turkiewicz; sister, Erin (Andy) Thomsen of Horicon; and his father-in-law, Les Otto of Markesan. Scott is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. A memorial service for Scott Turkiewicz will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. from Krueger Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Main St., Campbellsport Jean Knickel, 89, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on June 24, 1930, the daughter of Alfred and Henrietta (nee Brophey) Rosenberger. Jean was a 1944 graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School in Fond du Lac and a 1948 graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On June 24, 1950, Jean married Bruce W. Knickel at St. Mary’s Parsonage in Fond du Lac. After her children started school, Jean started working for the Campbellsport School District. Jean worked in the Superintendent’s office for Mr. Lang and Mr. Bertone, and retired from the School District after 33 years. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Matthews Parish Center, and loved her days there as well. Jean was a “city girl” brought to a farm. Jean loved her new home that they built on the edge of the golf course in retirement and her Sunday evening dinners with her family around. Even after Bruce passed away in 2003, Jean wanted to stay there and watch the sunrises with her morning coffee. Jean and Bruce had many friends in bowling, golf, cards, dominoes, and vacationing, and they were all dear to her. Her sister-in-law Joan was one of her dearest, and she considered her as a sister. They spent every Sunday afternoon together for most of their lives. Jean lost her twin sister Jane just a few months ago and she was the last of her siblings. Jean is survived by her sister-in-law Joan (Knickel) Malson and her children Mark of Fond du Lac, Steven (Barbara) Knickel of Campbellsport, Jill Wagner (Scott Koerwitz) of Fond du Lac and Nancy (Gary) Bindas of Campbellsport. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Kristina (Mike) Meilahn and their children Alayna, Aydan and Aydryan; Katrina Knickel, Michael Wagner (Jennifer Karpinsky) and Stephanie (Chad) Kraus and their children Gabriella and Lucas; her nieces Therese, Susan, Gail, Cathy, Nancy and Julie; and her daughter-in-law Lisa’s children and grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bruce, daughter-in-law Lisa Edwards Knickel, siblings and in-laws Arthur and Lois Rosenberger, Alfred Rosenberger Jr., Jane and George Miller and John Hoffman, her dear cousin Helen Braatz, Bruce’s parents Martin and Lazetta Knickel, her sister-in-law Joyce Knickel and brother-in-law Robert “Louie” Malson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Matthew Parish. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of St. Francis Home and Agnesian Hospice Hope for their care and concern shown Jean. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 1, at 6 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St., Campbellsport. Rev. Arline M. Mans (nee Chapman), 92, of State Road 67 Campbellsport, died on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at The Waterford Assisted Living in Plymouth. She was born in Milwaukee on May 25, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn Chapman. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Bruce (Sharon) Momsen of Boulder City, Nevada and Karen Popelier of Dundee; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Angie) Magnuson, Adam (Jackie) Magnuson, Amy Houser, Janet (Josh) Geiser, Dan Popelier, Jeff (Amber) Popelier, Joe (Melissa) Popelier; 13 great-grandchildren, Presley, Colton, Koda, Cheyenne, Savanna, Ryder, Rayden, Aiden, Hunter, Tanner, Christian, Taylor, Bryce, and Aubrey. She is further survived by one brother, Bob (Mary) Chapman of Crivitz, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Date: Friday, Aug. 2 Time: Visitation 4 to 8 p.m., Service 8 p.m. Place: Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville Walter R. “Gator” Adelmeyer, 66, of Lomira passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born the son of Robert and Anna Mae (Jones) Adelmeyer on February 13, 1953 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1971 graduate of Mayville High School. Walter was united in marriage to Barbara Lawrence on April 19, 1975, in Lomira at Trinity United Methodist Church. In the early part of his life, Walter helped on his family farm, located on Dairy Road in LeRoy. He went on to become an over-the-road truck driver for 40 years. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed taking his family on some of his routes. In his spare time, Walter enjoyed the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers. He loved watching his son’s games and helped coach whenever he had time. He relished being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed shooting trap, bowling, and playing softball. Walter is survived by his wife, Barb of Lomira; his sons, Donald (Dawn) Adelmeyer of Jackson and Dustin (special friend Megan Casey) Adelmeyer of Fox Lake; his sister, Mary Ann (Tony) Alsberg of Lomira; his brother-in-law, Mark Lawrence of Great Falls, MT; one grandchild on the way and his step-grandchildren, Dezirae and Trenton Jones; his canine companions, Lacey, Peanut, and Minnie; his grandpups, Nova and Lincoln. Walter is further survived by an uncle, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Don and Jackie Lawrence. Donna M. Serwe (nee Welsh), 86, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Serenity Villa in Campbellsport. She was born on February 26, 1933 in the Town of Osceola, the daughter of the late James and Viola Welsh (nee Draves). Donna married Gerald Serwe on May 29, 1954 at Our Lady of Angels in Armstrong. She worked at Barton Washer and Schlaefer Optometrists. While raising six children, she worked for over 20 years at St. Joseph’s Convent, tending to the sisters’ cleaning and spiritual needs. Donna formed very close bonds with the sisters. She loved babysitting and watching her grandchildren grow up. Her great-grandchildren always lifted up her spirits when they visited her. Donna was a devoted and loving wife. She loved spending time with her husband, going on short trips to see some sights, play a little bingo, and check out the slot machines. Vacations in the summertime involved spending time at various cabins and lakes up north. Our parents instilled a love of fishing and walks in the woods to enjoy nature. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her four sons, James (Kris) of Kaukauna, and their children, Ben (Dana), Sarah (Yorgos), Hannah (Elliot), Ryan (Brooke); Daniel (Denise) of Campbellsport and their son, Matt (Jordan); Gerry B. of Campbellsport and his daughter, Alexa (Barrett); and John of Campbellsport; one daughter, Sheryl (Rick) Anders of Campbellsport and their children, Joe (Angie), Jessica (Andy), and Jackie (Shaun); and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, James (Betty) Welsh of Eden; her sisters, Ann Gustafson and Bonnie Narges both of Fond du Lac, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald, her daughter, Judy, and her grandson, Mitchell.
