John Palmer Hennig, better known as Johnny P or JP, 80, passed away at his home on May 18, 2022. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-papa.   John was born on July 27, 1941, to Palmer and Helen (Fleming) Hennig in Mayville.   John graduated from Mayville High School, joined the Navy and came out as a Second-Class Engineman Diesel Mechanic. He served our country for four years and spent two years in the Reserves.   John married Barbara Ehlers on October 31, 1964, at St. Mary’s Church in Mayville. They raised two children together, Susan (Duane) Wiese of Fond du Lac and Michael (Izzy) Hennig of Kewaskum. John was blessed with five grandchildren, Brandon (Rachael) Wiese, Sadie (special friend Teddy) Hennig, Aaron (Erica) Wiese, Kelsie (Adam) Groth, and Cayden (special friend Elizabeth) Wiese. Especially dear to him were his great-grands, Alivia, Mia, and a newborn, Ronan Palmer Wiese, born the day before his great-grandpa’s passing and will carry on the Palmer name.   Johnny P took over his dad’s Hennig’s Spur Station in Mayville from 1963 until 1988. John then began work in the maintenance department at Seneca Foods. He was a City of Mayville Firefighter for 30 years and Emergency Medical Services volunteer for 39 years, serving as EMS coordinator from 1988 to 2008. He retired from the fire department as Senior Captain, truck 164.   John and Barb enjoyed vacationing near and far. He could fix anything and loved to tinker out in the shed or garage on all types of projects.   After retirement, John and Barb moved to Wautoma, building their dream home at “Rocky Top” and enjoying the quiet life in the woods, especially when sand pit neighbors Dennis and Bonnie joined them for adventures and laughs. John loved the outdoors, and target shooting, yearly hunting trips and making wood were some of his favorite hobbies. John and Barb loved when their kids and grandkids came to their ‘bed and breakfast’ and spent time with them on the trails in the woods and making memories.   John is survived by his wife, Barb; his daughter, Susan and her family; and his son, Michael and his family. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Kucharski; his brother-in-law, Glenn (Brenda) Ehlers, and his brother-in-law Gary (Marne) Ehlers, along with nieces and nephews and other family and friends. John is survived by special friends from Florida and Arizona, along with Mayville Fire and EMS and Seneca – that special friend connection did not diminish throughout the years.   John’s parents, parents-in-law, and his brother-in-law, Norbert Kucharski, preceded him in death.    A visitation for John will take place on Sunday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville.   A private family funeral and burial will be held with military honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69, assisted by grandchildren Aaron and Cayden Wiese who will play taps.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Mayville Fire and EMS department, or you can plant a tree in your backyard in his memory.    Shirley A. Quandt, 87, of Mayville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Summit Aurora Hospital in Oconomowoc, following a fall.    Shirley Anne Schultz was born on September 3, 1934, in Mayville, daughter of Erwin and Edna Metke Schultz. She grew up on Henninger Street and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.   Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Mayville High School.    Shirley was united in marriage to Edgar ‘Red’ Walter Quandt on September 17, 1955, and their 49-year happily-ever-after centered around Mayville.   Shirley enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a 50-year Dodge County elections worker and in her young adult years also worked as a secretary (administrative assistant) for the West Bend Company, Maysteel, and Schinderle Insurance.    In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and cheering on the Packers. Her service included Senior Luther League, Aid Association for Lutherans, singing with the Church choir, and quick response to many committees. She liked to travel with Edgar, created perfect needlepoint, beautiful cut-out Christmas cookies, and could wrap a gift as if prepared for a photo shoot. Her phenomenal recall of detail is fondly recounted by her grandchildren, of whom she was exceptionally proud; “Before there was Google, there was Grammy”.   Survivors include her son, Greg, and wife, Teresa, of Peachtree City, GA; her grandchildren, Matthew Quandt, and wife, Rebecca, of Arlington, VA, Lindsay Quandt Gossner and husband, Joel, of Atlanta, GA, and Joshua Quandt and wife, Jada, of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Violet Schultz of West Bend; her first great-grandchild, James Edgar Quandt of Arlington, VA, was happily anticipated; her niece, Christine Bauer, and husband, Joe, of Peoria, AZ; her nephew, David Quandt, and wife, Christine, of Lomira; extended friends and family also affectionately recall her kind-hearted, thoughtful, and determined soul.   Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, and brothers, Gordon and Willis ‘Dick’ Schultz.   A memorial service for Shirley will take place on Saturday, May 21, at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Kenneth Schaub officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon at the church.   John A. Paul, 60, of Theresa, passed away on May 12, 2022, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.   John was born on July 16, 1961, in Cudahy, the son of the late Jesse and Janet (nee Rassel) Paul. John was an avid fisher and hunter. He was a great uncle and friend to many. John was employed at Gromax Precision Die and Manufacturing in Germantown.   Those John leaves behind to cherish his memory include his siblings, Jim (Jenny) Paul of Ellington, Connecticut, and Joan (David) Bonack of Theresa; his niece and nephews, Jesse, JoAnna, Jack, Jared; other relatives and friends.   In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Paul.  A visitation and funeral service plans are pending.    Miles L. Buggs, 59, of Mayville en­tered into eter­nal life on Tues­day May 10, 2022.   Miles was born the son of Howard and Agnes (Bor­chardt) Buggs on Feb­ru­ary 15, 1963, in Mil­wau­kee. He hon­or­ably served his coun­try in the Navy, serv­ing from Au­gust 1981 until Au­gust 1984.   Miles was united in mar­riage to Mary Feier­stein on May 7, 1982, in Mil­wau­kee.   He loved his work as an elec­tri­cian.   Miles was an ac­tive mem­ber of Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship and vol­un­teered his skills as an elec­tri­cian for the church and was also very ac­tive with the Mayville Food Pantry.    In his spare time, Miles en­joyed ‘junk­ing’ and col­lect­ing. Along­side his wife and fam­ily, they en­joyed travel and vis­ited many places such as Hawaii, Alaska, and Mex­ico.    Miles is sur­vived by his wife, Mary of Mayville; his fa­ther, Howard Buggs of Mil­wau­kee; his chil­dren, Jacque­line (Nick Derus) Buggs of Mayville, Theresa (Josh) Smith of Mayville, and Daniel (An­drea) Buggs of Juneau; his grand­chil­dren, Riley, George, Alexan­der, Elias, Theodore, and Hadas­sah; his brother, Scott Buggs of Mil­wau­kee; his nephew, Alan (Lisa John­son) Buggs of Mil­wau­kee. He is fur­ther sur­vived by other rel­a­tives and friends.   He was pre­ceded in death by his mother, Agnes.   A fu­neral ser­vice for Miles was held on Fri­day, May 13, at 3 p.m. at Chris­t­ian Life Fel­low­ship in Mayville with Pas­tor Matt Lewandowski of­fi­ci­at­ing. Vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. until the time of the ser­vice at the church. Mil­i­tary hon­ors will be con­ducted by the Mayville Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #69. A con­tin­ued cel­e­bra­tion of Miles’ life will fol­low the ser­vice with food and fel­low­ship.   The fam­ily is es­pe­cially ap­pre­cia­tive of the crew of the Mayville Food Pantry, home away from home for Miles.    Joseph A. Herrick, 78, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.   Joseph Albert was born on November 25, 1943, in Stevens Point to Herman and Alice (Finnessy) Herrick.   He was united in marriage with Marleen Wollenberg in Portage, on March 30, 1968.   Joe worked for over 20 years as a machinist at Mayville Metal / Danly and retired in 2005.   Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He loved his family and his grandchildren were important to him. He enjoyed watching the Packer, Badgers, Bucks, and Brewers.   Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Marleen of Beaver Dam; children, Lori Herrick of Brownsville and Stephen (Terri) Herrick of Mayville; grandchildren, Brenna Bruckner (special friend, Tyler Westover) and Brandon Bruckner, Hallie Buchholz, Brodie and Jered Herrick; great-grandchildren, Rilley and Bayley Westover; brothers and sisters, Shirley Plasky, Jim (Elaine), his twin brother, John (Corrine), Jerome, Linda Hungerford, David (Sharon), Jeff, Keith (Doreen); so many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janice Tollefson.   In keeping with Joe’s wishes, there will be no formal services and cremation has taken place.   The family would like to say thank you to the wonderful nurses at Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam.   The Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is caring for the family.    William A. Mu­sack, 88, of Theresa passed away on Mon­day, April 11, 2022, at Hope Health and Re­habili­ta­tion in Lomira with his fam­ily by his side.   Bill was born the son of William and Selma (Krueger) Mu­sack on No­vem­ber 25, 1933, in Theresa Sta­tion.   He was united in mar­riage to Mary Van Nor­man on April 9, 1988, in North Fond du Lac.   Bill served his coun­try hon­or­ably in the US Army serv­ing from 1953 to 1955.   He was a mem­ber of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa and a mem­ber of the Theresa Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #270.   Bill had worked at Gen­eral Tele­phone, and then was a jour­ney­man line­man, and also drove truck for over 20 years.   Bill is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Con­nie (Mar­lin) Kuehl of North Fond du Lac, Stan Mu­sack of Fond du Lac, Lau­rie Rein­hart of Oshkosh, Nancy Bar­rett of Arkansas, Nan­nette Lem of Vir­ginia, Tammy (Loren) Sorheim of Theresa Sta­tion, Selma (John) Bor­son of Crys­tal Lake, Illi­nois; his step-chil­dren, Dar­ryl (Shari) Van Nor­man of Theresa, Lynan (David) Wiese of Mayville, Lisa (Paul) Klein­maus of Rosendale; his sib­lings, Vir­ginia Wen­dorf of Mayville, Alan Mu­sack of Hart­ford, Jea­nine Stre­blow of Mayville, Ger­ald Mu­sack of Theresa, and Lloyd Mu­sack of Farm­ersville; his 26 grand­chil­dren, many great-grand­chil­dren and other rel­a­tives and friends.   He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his wife, Mary; son, Ken Mu­sack; daugh­ter, Penny; daugh­ter-in-in­fancy, Vicki; and broth­ers, Clar­ion and Don­ald.   A vis­i­ta­tion for William was held on Sat­ur­day, April 16, from 10 until 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Ev.
