   Jacquelyn DeTuncq, 73, of Mayville passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Crossroads in Fond du Lac.   Jacquelyn was born the daughter of Charles and Lila (Rick) Volk on September 24, 1948, in Milwaukee.   She was united in marriage to Edward ‘Chip’ DeTuncq on January 18, 1969, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend.   Jacquelyn worked as a travel agent and loved to travel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially spoiling the grandchildren. Jacquelyn also loved to craft and made many gifts for family and friends. She loved life and wanted the people around her to be happy and healthy.   She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville.   She is survived by her husband, Edward ‘Chip’ of Mayville; her daughters, Amy Lynn Helein and Tracy Ann (Steven) Nadolski; her siblings, Carolyn Volk, Marilyn Krueger, and Gary (Judy) Volk; her grandchildren, Teague, Alex, and Reilly Nadolski and Jonathan and Connor Helein; further survived by other relatives and many friends.   Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph; and her son-in-law, Gary Helein.   A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Marvin “Marvelous Marv” Schellpfeffer, 87, of Shawano, formerly of Mayville, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, in Green Bay.Marvin was born at the family home, outside of Horicon, on December 17, 1934, to Herbert and Lydia (Koepsell) Schellpfeffer.Marvin graduated from Mayville High School and worked the family farm.He worked at Mayville Metals for over 40 years and was a past member of the Theresa Lions Club. In the mid 1970’s Marvin built a cabin in the Town of Wescott, Shawano and moved to Shawano permanently after retiring, where he was a member of the Shawano Lake Lions Club.On December 26, 1986, Marvin was united in marriage to Loraine Freimuth in Juneau.In his free time, Marvin enjoyed attending the Hodag festival in Rhinelander, watching NASCAR, shaking dice, and making “the rounds” and telling stories.Marvin is survived by his wife, Loraine; his children, Jeffrey (Linda) Schellpfeffer of Mayville, Dennis (Crystal) Schellpfeffer of Horicon, and Bruce (Hope) Schellpfeffer of New Mexico; stepdaughter, Laurie (Tom) Zaddock of New London; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Darlene Schellpfeffer. He is further survived by Loraine’s family, Sherrie Freimuth, Marc Freimuth, Velee Freimuth, Wayne Price, Ron and Judy Freimuth, Lois Peeters, Lucille Letter, Carol and Jim Diemel, Don and Lynn Freimuth, and Barb and Rod Hillsberg, along with other relatives and friends.Preceding Marvin in death are his parents; a brother, Earl Schellpfeffer; many beloved brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law, as well as three dogs all named Lucky.A funeral service for Marvin will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 1, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Dick Menning officiating. Burial will be in Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott. Charles Henry Van de Zande

Charles Henry Van de Zande


   Charles Henry Van de Zande passed away on March 20, 2022, two days before his 93rd birthday.   He was born in Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, on March 22, 1929, and raised in Campbellsport. He graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1947 where he lettered in three sports.   He graduated from Lawrence College (now University) in 1951 with the combined major physics/math. During the summers, while in high school and college, he worked at Mauthe Lake State Forest. After college, he enlisted in the US Air Force.   While in the Air Force, he met and married Paulette Douglas Chambers from Hampton, VA. He received an honorable discharge from the Air Force as a 2nd Lt. In 1953.   He worked for RCA as a semiconductor design engineer, in Somerville, NJ, for 10 years. While at RCA, he earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics from Rutgers.   He worked for IBM as a Quality and Reliability Engineer in East Fishkill, NY, from 1963 to 1978, and at the Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC, from 1978 to 1996. After retiring from IBM, he taught for 15 years in the Industrial Engineering Department at NC A&T State University. During this period, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach statistics at the University of Mauritius for one year.   He was a leader in the Boy Scouts, both as a youth and as an adult. His public service was 11 years in the Bay Leaf Volunteer Fire Department and 13 years in the NC Search and Rescue Dog Association. He co-founded several long-distance foot races and the summer track series in the Poughkeepsie, NY, area. He was a competitive long-distance runner and completed 26 marathons.   He had a life-long love of playing music and played the trumpet in several big bands and concert bands, including the Greensboro Big Band and Concert Band. In later years, he taught himself to play several stringed instruments, the concertina and keyboards.   He was a member of “Math Nerds,” an early online community that helped students solve mathematical problems.   In his waning years, he lived at Abbotswood at Irving Park, Greensboro, NC, for about six years where he participated in theater and chorus, and served on several committees. In 2019, he moved to Brookdale Chambrel Williamsburg, Virginia, where he was involved with bridge, chess and music programs, and he loved showing off his knowledge in trivia games and challenges.   He is survived by his wife, Paulette Van de Zande; son, Derrik (Sandy) Van de Zande; daughter, Jeanette (Keith) Navia; daughter, Elaine (Stanley) Van de Zande Schwartz; daughter, Mary (John) Kramer; granddaughter, Georgia Dawn Van de Zande; and grandson, Charles Ty Van de Zande; brother, Steve Van de Zande of Tucson AZ; and nephew, Timothy Van de Zande.   Charles’ son, Charles “Douglas” (Linda) Van de Zande predeceased him.   At his request, there will be no service. Marlene Louise Schacht

Marlene Louise Schacht


   Marlene Louise Schacht (nee Yogerst), 77, of Rubicon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with her children by her side.    Marlene was born November 11, 1944, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee.   She was united in marriage to Lyle Walter Schacht on November 9, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. They bought a home in Rubicon and moved there to start a family. There they became active members of St. John’s Catholic Church.   She was an organist for the parish for many years and was also a longtime member of the Christian Mothers organization.   Marlene leaves behind her four adoring children, Michael (Heather) Schacht, Laura (Michael) Eggleston, Renee (the late Michael) Barzano, Erin (Aaron) Kielisch; sixteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Also cherished siblings Paul, Mark, Peter (Heather), Raymond, and Henry (Maria) Yogerst, and Mary Rose (Eugene) Herther; sisters-in-law Bernice Bindrich, Shirley Becker, Sue Yogerst; brother-in-law Lloyd (Ruby) Schacht. She is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Lyle; parents, Norman and Agnes Yogerst; step-mother, Irene Yogerst; parents-in-law, Harold and Erna Schacht; siblings, Karen, John, and Rita Yogerst; siblings-in-law, Edie Yogerst, Nancy Yogerst, Vernon and Marion Schacht, Armand Becker, Robert Bindrich; and son-in-law, Michael Barzano.   Marlene’s legacy includes thousands of hand-crafted items. She loved to spend her time knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She started her many years of donations by sewing blankets for the SHARE welfare organization. Her talents also benefited the annual St. John’s Fall Festival, and hundreds of children had warm hands from the mittens that were crocheted over many decades. Local babies were gifted their first handmade blanket or crocheted hat as they went home from the hospital. Many other families have heirloom sweaters or afghans that continue to be handed down through generations. Scout mothers were thankful for her skills when it came to sewing patches on vests and sashes. Most recently she dedicated many hours creating items for the Shoe Box Club, an organization that sends toys and necessities to needy children all over the world.    Funeral services in remembrance of Marlene were held at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St, Hartford on Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Pru­dence Carol Pu­fahl, age 82, of Hori­con, passed away peace­fully on Thurs­day, March 17, 2022, in the com­fort of her home with her fam­ily at her side.   Pru­dence was born to Peter and Carol (Sieger) Pol­cyn on Flag Day, June 14, 1939, in Mil­wau­kee. She grad­u­ated from Lin­coln High School in Mil­wau­kee.    Pru­dence mar­ried David Pu­fahl, Sr., on May 12, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hori­con.   Dave and Prudy cre­ated a beau­ti­ful life to­gether in Hori­con, where they raised their three chil­dren. As a fam­ily, they en­joyed trav­el­ing, camp­ing, and sight­see­ing all over Wis­con­sin and the United States. After Dave’s re­tire­ment, they pur­chased a lake home in Shawano, where they would go for week­end get­aways. Prudy adored her five grand­chil­dren and every minute she spent with them. To­gether with Dave, they at­tended many of their grand­chil­dren’s school and sport­ing events over the years.   Prudy is sur­vived by her hus­band of 59 years, David, Sr.; her three chil­dren, Beth (Brett) Knut­son, Lisa (Brian) Bischoff, and Dave, Jr. (Kristina) Pu­fahl; five grand­chil­dren, Bai­ley, Ben­nett, Bre­anne, Aaron and Aubry; one brother, Richard Pol­cyn; lov­ing in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.   A pri­vate fam­ily memo­r­ial ser­vice will be held on Thurs­day, March 24, 2022, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con, with Rev. Beverly Lydia Joyce Geschke (nee Wolter), age 83 of Fond du Lac went to her heavenly home Saturday, March 19, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 30, 1938, to Reinhart and Julia (nee Wasko) Wolter of Mayville. She lived in Mayville most of her life until 2019 when she moved to Fond du Lac. She enjoyed traveling, camping in Shawano, gambling, planning family reunions, and attending grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger Fan and showed her Wisconsin Pride wherever she went.She is survived by her children, Belinda (Ed) Posto, Becky (William) O’Brien, Bridgette (Pete) Koziol and Skyler (Rachel) Geschke. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Tanya Daniels, Nola K. Stahmann, Samantha Geschke, Julia Hagen, Zachary Koziol, Sophia Koziol, and Blake Geschke; great-grandchildren, Ireland, Mason, Chassia, Salone, Theadore, Eleanor, Marvin, and Audrey. A brother, Stanley (Sharon) Wolter.She is preceded in death by her parents, Reinhardt and Julia Wolter; sisters, Elizabeth “Bettie” Gerke and Delores Krueger; and brothers, Reinhardt J. Arthur J. Weiglein, Jr. ‘Sonny’, age 81, of Brownsville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Arthur was born on March 8, 1941, to Arthur, Sr. and Lucy (Feucht) Weiglein. Arthur was a lifelong dairy farmer on Zangl Road in Brownsville. He was united in marriage to Zandra Kahlhamer on August 19, 1961. In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed taking care of his rabbits and cats. He loved to spend time in his garden and liked to watch Wisconsin sports teams. Arthur was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy.Arthur was survived by his wife of 60 years, Zandra of Brownsville; his children, Jeff (special friend, Jackie) Weiglein of Campbellsport, Bernice (Brian) Smits of Waupun, John (Bonnie) Weiglein of Brownsville, and Mary (Gregg) Nitschke of Mayville; his sisters, Alice Krutke of Mayville, Joyce Stommel of Mayville, Rita Schmidt of Beaver Dam, and Lucille (Gordon) Becker of West Bend; his grandchildren, Holly (Joshua) Pautz, Cody Smits, Amberly (Jeff) Meyer, Aaron (Lizzy) Weiglein, Amy (fiancé, Elisha) Weiglein, Aleah Weiglein, Daniel (fiancé, Emily) Quinn, and Kristen (fiancé, Mark) Quinn; his great-grandchildren, Owen, A.J., Raelynn, Jeffery, Dylan, and twins on the way.   After 18 years, Ar­lene’s jour­ney to meet back up with her hus­band, Mar­vin, in heaven was com­plete on March 2, 2022, at the age of 86.  Ar­lene Jo­hanna Lil­lian Koepsell Oh­land, daugh­ter of Got­thold A. and Verona A. M. (nee Gloede) Koepsell, was born on May 27, 1935, in the Town of Her­man, Dodge County. She was bap­tized on June 9, 1935, by Pas­tor Her­man H. Laabs.    She was con­firmed on June 5, 1949, by Pas­tor William A. Lauter­bach at Im­manuel Lutheran Church, Town of Theresa. Her mem­ory verse was Psalm 27, verse 1. “The LORD is my light and my sal­va­tion; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Ar­lene’s fa­vorite chap­ter in the Bible was 1st Corinthi­ans, Chap­ter 13.   Mar­vin and Ar­lene were mar­ried on June 27, 1953, at Im­manuel Lutheran Church, Hochheim, by Pas­tor B. C. Gumz. Ar­lene worked at Han­kscraft in Reeds­burg the first few years after they were mar­ried and then joined Mar­vin in Ger­many from May through No­vem­ber 1956, where he was serv­ing in the U.S. Army. Marv saved up all his fur­lough time while he was over there so when Ar­lene ar­rived, they did a lot of trav­el­ing to the dif­fer­ent coun­tries in Eu­rope where they saw a lot of beau­ti­ful scenery and places of in­ter­est. When they moved to Hart­ford in 1959, Ar­lene was a home­maker and mother. She later worked at Bublitz’s restau­rant in Hart­ford for five years. In 1971, she started her job as a food ser­vice worker at Hart­ford High School. She worked there for 29 years until her re­tire­ment in June 2000.   Ar­lene has been a mem­ber of Peace Lutheran Church in Hart­ford since 1959. She served as an of­fi­cer of Peace Lutheran Mis­sion So­ci­ety at var­i­ous times and served as the trea­surer of the Dodge County Cir­cuit of Lutheran Women’s Mis­sion­ary So­ci­ety. She loved vol­un­teer­ing at her church by serv­ing Easter break­fasts, help­ing with fu­ner­als, bak­ing for spe­cial events or shut-ins or help­ing as­sem­ble the church newslet­ter and weekly bul­letins with her very close friend, Eve­lyn Horst, and sis­ter, Lor­raine.    Ar­lene is sur­vived by her two sons, Duane (Kathy) Oh­land of Beaver Dam and Daryl (Lori) Oh­land of Neenah; six grand­chil­dren, Kevin Oh­land, West Allis, Amanda (Adam) Har­vey, Hart­ford, Kyle (Brooke Siew­ert) Oh­land, Waupun, Lucas Oh­land, An­drew Oh­land, and Con­nor Oh­land, Neenah; great-grand­chil­dren, AJ and Joshua Oh­land, Made­lyn, Jor­dyn, and Vyn­cent Har­vey, and Eve­lyn Kreuziger. Ar­lene is also sur­vived by her sis­ters, Lor­raine Hahn, Elaine (Claude) Rex, Mar­ion (Ron) Brandt, and Edna (Bob) Schultz; step-sis­ters-in-law, Carol Dum­mer and Con­nie (Mike) Thull; step-brother-in-law, Gary Dum­mer; for­mer grand­daugh­ter-in law, Lisa Oh­land; and other fam­ily and friends.    She was pre­ceded in death by her beloved hus­band, Mar­vin, on June 24, 2004; her par­ents, Got­thold and Verona Koepsell; step­fa­ther, Har­vey Dum­mer; fa­ther-in-law and mother-in-law, Al­bert and Bertha Oh­land; sis­ter, Marlis Glamann; broth­ers-in-law, Earl Hahn, Le­land Gunst, Wilbert Oh­land, and James Thomp­son; sis­ters-in-law, Lenora Thomp­son and Jean Kim­mel; step-brother-in-law Duane Dum­mer and step-sis­ter-in-law, Sharon Dum­mer.    Ar­lene en­joyed cook­ing, bak­ing, vol­un­teer­ing, and spend­ing time with her chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren. She was af­fec­tion­ately known as the jell-o jig­glers grandma.    Fu­neral Ser­vices for Ar­lene will be held Mon­day, March 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1001 Cen­ter Street, Hart­ford, WI 53027, with Rev.    Mary Ann Schellinger (nee Fehring) age 84 of Al­len­ton passed away Sat­ur­day, March 5, 2022, at The Kathy Hos­pice in West Bend.  Mary Ann was born Au­gust 27, 1937, in the Town of Her­man, to Wal­ter and Viola (nee Gun­drum) Fehring. She was united in mar­riage to Richard Schellinger on April 25, 1959, at Sa­cred Heart Catholic Church in Al­len­ton. They had a faith­ful and happy mar­riage of 62 years that they shared with their fam­ily and friends. She loved her fam­ily, grand­chil­dren, and great grand­chil­dren. She es­pe­cially loved rock­ing all the ba­bies our fam­ily has been blessed with. She en­joyed host­ing par­ties for fam­ily and friends and al­ways made you feel wel­comed. She was a won­der­ful cook and could eas­ily whip up a meal in no time. She en­joyed play­ing Sheepshead and Skip-Bo with her grand­kids, polka danc­ing, watch­ing birds, gar­den­ing, going up to the cabin with her fam­ily.    Mary Ann is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band, Richard; chil­dren, Ar­leen (Dale) Man­tel, Mike (Cathy), Mark (Cindy), Merle (Cindy), Cheryl (Je­remy) San­dretti, and Allen (Krysta); 15 grand­chil­dren, Jesse (Nicky), Mitch (Melissa), Tracy, Nick (Mary), Shanna (Andy), Troy (Megan), Bran­don, Kaylie (Bran­don), Travis, Jared (Haley), Brett, Maken­zie, Matthew, Ben­nett, and Brae­lyn; 15 great-grand­chil­dren; sib­lings, Earl (Elaine) Fehring and Jerome (Nancy) Fehring; in-laws, Gary (Mary) Schellinger, Joan (Don) Stangl and Susan Holmes.
