KAREN ROUSE For the first year since the Knowles Fireman’s Picnic and Parade has been held since 1939, it has been cancelled. The popular annual Fourth of July celebration traditionally includes a picnic and parade, sponsored by the Knowles Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD). The event throws open the door to the Knowles firehouse for sit-down eating, offers its famous cake and ice-cream stand, as well as mouth watering brats and hamburgers.
