Lomira Wrestling Continues To Roll In Victory Over Mayville


ZACH COOK The Lomira wrestling team remains unbeaten in conference duals this season after defeating Mayville 78-6 last Thursday night. “We didn’t have many opportunities to wrestle with only four matches, but the guys that did get a match wrestled tough and executed well,” Lomira Head Coach Jon Marx said. The lack of matches during conference duals for Lomira has been a consistent theme all season as most teams in the Flyway are unable to fill an entire varsity roster regularly. Marx said that is why he stresses the importance of practice reps.

MITCHELL BRADLEY KELLER It was a game-to-remember for Caleb LaBlanc as the senior Marshmen guard went 10-13 from the floor (an almost 77 percent shooting rate) while scoring 24 points as Horicon (3-8, 2-4) defeated non-conference opponent Rio last week Tuesday, Jan. 14 by a score of 68-64. His previous point high on the season was eight, which happened in back-to-back games (Dec. 3 and 5) to open the campaign.
