Chuck Bublitz

Chuck Bublitz

Chuck Bublitz was called to his heavenly home to be with Jesus in glory on Monday, March 23. Chuck was born on April 4, 1957, in West Bend to Elroy and Carol (Jackson) Bublitz. He was baptized April 21, 1957. He was united in marriage to Kitty Schneider on October 21, 1978, at Peace Lutheran in Hartford. Those Chuck leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Kitty; three children, Kevin (Jessica) Bublitz of Lomira, Eric (Laura) Bublitz of Lomira, and Marla (Derrick) Denis of Glendale; seven grandchildren, Jackson, Greta, Will, Creighton, Layla, Stella and Ellie; a sister, Gail (Kenn) Kurtz; three brothers, Richard (Audrey) Bublitz, James (Peggy) Bublitz, and Joseph (Dawn) Bublitz; other relatives and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Elroy Bublitz; mother, Carol Bublitz; and brother, Paul. We remember Chuck in the many ways he showed his love for the Lord. He was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandpa, dear brother and treasured friend. Working in the family restaurant, he touched so many lives with his cheerful smile and giving attitude. In church he was the loudest singer and faithful servant to others in Christ. His favorite things to do were working, playing, telling stories, motorcycling, snowmobiling and spending time Up North goofing off with his family and friends. He was always energetic, cracking jokes and quick with a smile. His love for Jesus was apparent every day. We are grateful to have had a great example of a Christian husband, father and grandpa and we patiently wait to be reunited with him in heaven. Because of current restrictions, a private service will be held for Chuck’s family at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. Please consider signing our online guest book (www.myrhum-patten.com) to share your condolences with the family. Cards addressed to the family may be sent in care of: Myrhum – Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend, WI 53095.

Geraldine I. Zimmerman

Geraldine I. Zimmerman

Geraldine (Burkhardt) Zimmerman, 89, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. Gerry was the only child of Frank (Butch) and Irene Burkhardt Jr. and grew up in Kekoskee. The Burkhardt family originally settled in the village in the late 1800’s and was the proprietor of “Burkhardt’s Tavern” for three generations. She was very proud of her family connection with Kekoskee and numerous items from the generations of Burkhardt are on display at the Kekoskee Museum. (More information on Gerry’s family can be found in the book “History of Kekoskee, Wisconsin”). After graduating from Mayville High School, Gerry tended bar at the tavern, married and moved to Mayville, having two children. After working as a secretary at Baker Canning Co. in Theresa, she was employed by Wisconsin Power & Light for 22 years. Back in the day when bills were paid in person, she was the face behind the counter in Mayville’s WP&L office. She brought home great behind-the-scene stories when Mayville got hit with the big ice storm in the early 1970’s. As Gerry’s father and husband were hunters and also fished, the Horicon Marsh and Rock River were prominent in her life. She taught her eight-year-old daughter how to pluck a duck and as the family caught Northern Pike & Bullheads, she got stuck cleaning them all (good old memories). She loved traveling, antiquing and eating out. Some highlights were when Gerry and her daughter ate their way around Austria, tried most of the buffets in Las Vegas and after a stateroom stay on the Hotel Queen Mary, had their fabulous brunch (very fattening memories). Gerry’s son would invite her out to his recreational land, where she enjoyed sitting around a late-night bonfire, listening to the fire crackle (warm memories). She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Greg) Langenhorst; son, Scott Zimmerman; grandson, Andy Zimmerman; nephews, Pat (Liza Allen) Zimmerman and Mike (Lori) Zimmerman; nieces, Nikki (Robert) Devine and Kelli (Andy) Zimmerman-Klemp. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gus Zimmerman Jr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and June Zimmerman; nieces, Mary Robin Zimmerman and Traci Zimmerman; life-long friend, Donna Mae Clark; numerous grand-dogs. If you wish to give a memorial in Gerry’s name, she loved the church that the Burkhardt’s attended for four generations. Please address to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 23 Main St., Mayville (Kekoskee), WI 53050. Per Gerry’s wishes (at 89 years old she figured that there would be few people still alive that knew her), it will be a private service and burial in Mayville’s Graceland Cemetery. Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville is serving the family. For online condolences and other information please visit www.KoepsellFH. com
