She was born in Horicon, on July 16, 1933, to the late Armond and Adeline (Nungessor) Genzmer. Judith married Norbert Nigbur on May 11, 1957, in Minocqua. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, doing puzzles and Xmas in July. Judith loved nature. Her greatest joy was watching the deer, birds and other animals out her kitchen window. Survivors include her husband, Norbert Nigbur; children, Deborah Nigbur, Teresa Nigbur, Rose Nigbur, Andrew (Michele) Nigbur; grandchildren, Hrisanthi (Isaac) Hernandez, Vanessa (Michael) Krueger, Kenny Hewitt, Jennifer Hewitt, Chelsea Nigbur, Mitchell Nigbur, Cindy Ladony, Veronica Walton; great-grandchildren, Karina, Guillarmo, Kaliste, Kolt, Sofia, Zachary, Spencer; special friends, Joan Nowak, Vivian Bogenschneider; and her pet, Bo. Judith was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Nigbur and special friend, Edie Aggen. Family and friends called at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Howard, (one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave. Entrance directly across from BP gas station on Glendale.), on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Father Jim Lucas officiating. Robert F. Hartwig, III, 84, of Horicon passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 7, 2019, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Robert was born the son of Robert August and Rose (Kurtz) Hartwig on August 19, 1935, in the Township of Hubbard. Robert was united in marriage to Carole Smith on October 9, 1982, in Mayville. Robert was a veteran of the US Army. He was an active member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. He was retired from John Deere Company in Horicon. He took pride in his gardens and aviation was Robert’s passion both flying and building airplanes. Robert is survived by his children, Robert IV (Lori) Hartwig of Horicon and Sandra Alvarado of Waupun; his brother, Richard Hartwig of Mayville; his grandchildren, Thomas (Tresha) Corso, Crystal (Jeff) Sturycz, Kelly (Dave) Teska, Katie Corso, Daniel (Jessica) Davis, Robert (Brandy) Hartwig, Sarah Limberg, Cassandra (Steven) Steffes, Meghan (Frank) Klapper, and Shayley Ceman; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole; and his brothers, Roger and Rodney Hartwig. Visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 12 pm. until 2 p.m. at the church. Funeral services for Robert took place on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating. Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with military honors to be conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post #157. Alice E. Stommel


Alice E. Stommel, 101, of Lomira, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Alice was born the daughter of Henry and Martha (Huettner) Steffan on April 9, 1918, in Mayville. She was united in marriage to Anthony Stommel on July 27, 1935, in Neosho. Together with her husband, Alice dairy farmed in Dodge County until they moved to Mayville. Alice then worked at Purity Cheese in Mayville and California Canners in Lomira from where she retired. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lomira. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed traveling and trips up north to Pickerel Lake with her husband and family. She also liked bowling and dancing. Alice loved to be around her family and cherished their get togethers. Alice is survived by her children, Robert (Adeline) Stommel of Mayville, Richard (Ruby) Stommel of West Bend, Patricia (Dieter) Gust of Fond du Lac, and Ronald Stommel of Lomira; daughter-in- law, Joyce Stommel of Mayville, brother, Willard (Megumi) Steffan of Waseca, MN; also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony, in 1974; son, Donald; daughter, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Les) Adelmeyer; brother, Sylvester (Evelyn) Steffan; granddaughters, Susan and Debra; and a great- grandson, Scott. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. at the church in Lomira. A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lomira with the Fr. Jerry Repenshek presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Lomira following the service.
