A Stomping Success

Posted

The Friends of the Kettle Moraine held their second annual Leaf Stomp on Saturday, October 11.
About 300 people registered to hike one of four segments (22 miles, 15 miles, 10 miles, or 5 miles) along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through the beautiful fall woods of the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Northern Unit. People traveled from nearby Campbellsport to as far away as Florida to participate in this year’s Leaf Stomp.
This non-competitive hike was a huge success thanks to the more than 35 volunteers who carried out pre- and post-event logistics, greeted hikers at the registration area, provided hiker support, assisted at road crossings, and staffed Hiker Refueling Stations and the Finish Line. We also need to thank our wonderful sponsors, including CD Construction, Thrivent Financial, Russ Darrow Automotive Group, Schreiber Foods, Sargento, Gibbsville Cheese, Walmart (Fond du Lac), Laatsch’s Piggly Wiggly (Kewaskum), and some very generous Friends of the Kettle Moraine members.
Mark your calendar for next year’s Leaf Stomp – Saturday, October 10, 2026!
