Bethel United Church of Christ demonstrated that a small congregation could make a big impact on their community. On Feb. 8, the church collected over 530 cans of soup and miscellaneous food items for Souper Sunday, all of which were donated to the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Fond du Lac.
The impressive collection came from Bethel’s congregation of just 45 members, proving that community spirit isn’t measured by size but by heart.
“It’s a small church where a small group of people has big love for its community,” said Pastor Tim Keenan.
The Souper Sunday initiative coincides with the Super Bowl weekend, turning a day typically focused on celebration into an opportunity to serve those in need. The donations will help stock the Salvation Army Food Pantry’s shelves, providing meals for local families facing food insecurity.
