Campbellsport Public Library Welcomes Live Animal Program with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue

The Campbellsport Public Library, in partnership with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue, is thrilled to host Color Our World, an exciting live animal program designed to educate and inspire young minds. The event takes place at the library (220 N Helena St, Campbellsport) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and promises a colorful journey through the natural world with a variety of exotic animal guests.
Attendees can expect to meet a vibrant mix of animals—snakes, lizards, birds, insects, spiders, and even hedgehogs! This immersive presentation will explore how animals use color for camouflage, warning signals, and mimicry, tying into this year’s Summer Reading Program theme. A live Q&A will give children and families the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about these incredible creatures. If time allows, guests may even get to interact with the animals up close.
“Our Color Our World program brings science and storytelling to life,” said Megan Anderson, Education Specialist with J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. “Kids leave these programs with a new appreciation for animal adaptations, conservation, and the beauty of biodiversity. Plus, it’s just plain fun!”
J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is Wisconsin’s leading exotic pet rescue, and their educational outreach programs reach thousands of students and families each year. These events not only entertain but also teach vital lessons about responsible pet ownership and the importance of not releasing exotic pets into the wild.
This program is free to attend and open to all ages. Come early—space fills quickly when the animals arrive!
