Campbellsport School District
Campbellsport School District is excited to announce we have been awarded a $100,000 grant through the Department of Workforce Development’s (DWD) Fast Forward grant program. This funding will enable the district to purchase two FANUC material handling robots, along with multiple other industrial-ready teaching materials, expanding Campbellsport High School’s STEM offerings and better preparing students for careers in manufacturing and technology.
In addition to the DWD grant, FANUC is providing a generous match valued at $100,000 in the form of training, support, and additional resources. Together, the total combined value of the grant and the match is $200,000 for the Campbellsport School District, representing a significant investment in student opportunities and educational innovation.
FANUC, a global leader in industrial robots and CNC systems, is the ideal partner for offering students state-of-the-art, hands-on learning experiences.
With the new equipment, Campbellsport High School will expand its curriculum to include courses directly aligned with the skills sought by local business partners. This initiative will equip students with valuable, real-world competencies that meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce.
We are enthusiastic about the possibilities this combined investment brings. Integrating FANUC robotics into our curriculum will not only enhance student learning, but also strengthen our partnerships with local industry leaders. This initiative supports our goal of preparing students for successful careers in advanced manufacturing and technology fields.
In addition, T.C. Energy awarded Campbellsport High School a $25,000 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Grant to support student education and preparation related to the power industry. This grant money will be used to purchase equipment (3D printers and robotic arm) and tools.
Campbellsport High School remains committed to providing innovative educational programs that empower students and contribute to the growth of our local industries.
Tom Wissink, CSD District Administrator, shared “Like many Wisconsin public high schools, we have been retooling our high school Tech Ed departments for years. It is part of our plan to prepare every student for a job or career pathway based on their individual interests, talents, skills and knowledge. Fifty–five percent of our graduates enter the work force or go on to a technical college. We are committed to building skilled trades and STEM pathways, pipelines and partnerships with local technical colleges and employers. This includes more students in CHS Youth Apprenticeship and work experience programs. It also helps us prepare our four year college bound students (43% of CHS graduates) in high demand areas such as technology, healthcare, business and management, financial services, cybersecurity, and manufacturing automation and technology. These grants and match from DWD, T.C. Energy and FANUC Grants exemplify those partnerships and the opportunities they create for our students.”
“We excel at preparing our students for these jobs and fueling our local, state and national economies at exactly the time they need us. Campbellsport High School is well prepared to provide this education, pathways and partnerships. In our little district alone, over 500 middle and high school students per year are taking a class in and using our Tech Ed/STEM labs. Over half of our high school students have taken a dual credit course for college credit preparing them for a job or career, connecting them to an employer or college and saving their parents thousands of dollars. It’s a tremendous value. We’re a small district with big opportunities for our students!”
