The Campbellsport School District Board of Education met on Oct. 5 at Eden Elementary and discussed the upcoming budget hearing and review along with taking action on FFA conferences, mental health support and other business.
At the end of the meeting, before moving into closed session, the board went through the presentation to be used at the budget hearing and review. Inside it gave a quick overview of the district’s projected spending and how their budget will be distributed.
Final numbers from the audit were released on Oct. 15 so the numbers within the presentation shown at this meeting will be adjusted if need be.
The board approved the budget hearing and annual minutes, with any changes needed after the audit is returned.
This meeting containing the budget hearing and the annual meeting will be Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the middle/high school lang auditorium.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and the board again mentioned the possibility of guided tours of the school ahead of the meeting for those interested. Those tours would likely start at 6 p.m.
Several FFA conferences were approved for the 2026/2027 school year. Conferences approved are the following:
FFA Mission Impact Conference, Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, to Friday, Nov. 13, 2026, in Green Bay, Wis. for up to nine students.
FFA Half Time Conference, Friday, Jan. 15, 2027, to Saturday, Jan. 16, 2027, in Stevens Point, Wis. for up to two students.
FFA EDGE/Connect Conference, Thursday, Mar. 18, 2027, to Mar. Friday, 19, 2027, in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. for up to nine students.
FFA State Convention, Monday, Jun. 14, 2027, to Thursday, Jun. 17, 2027, in Madison, Wis. for nine to 18 students.
During the meeting, the board approved Creative Roots Counseling to provide mental health support to students and staff in the district. Previously, only students with insurance were able to get support at school, now that has changed. Students no longer would need insurance to receive help.
MOUs that were signed for the mental health support were an art therapy group, elementary support group and high school anxiety support group. Parental or guardian approval is needed for students to participate in any of these groups.
Creative Roots Counseling got approved to be an EAP provider, meaning staff are able to receive support as well.
Additional Action and Discussion
There was an update on the food service at the district presented by Rebecca Hebert. She said that the students are enjoying the new lunch menu items and are having fun making their own plates. There is an increase in variety of options for the students and they are enjoying the choices.
The Fond du Lac Boys and Girls Club have accepted Campbellsport into their program. This makes them the first school not directly in Fond du Lac to be accepted. Providing after school child care is their service and they hope to begin offering it in the fall of 2027.
Approval was granted for the five early graduation applicants at Campbellsport High School and the board accepted the Cougar Booster Club donations.
Meeting minutes for the Sept. 21 board of education meeting were approved.
The third Friday count that measures student enrollment was at 1,219 students across the district.
At 8:42 p.m. the board approved moving into closed session.
