Campbellsport High School is proud to announce its “Students of the Month” for the month of March. All high school students are eligible for this honor. Teachers make their selections based upon attitude, effort, character, interest, and achievements, as exhibited in the classroom and school community. Students are nominated by their teachers and then chosen by the department.
Administration, faculty, and staff are committed to developing future leaders in our community. We want to honor those who are striving each and every day to be those future leaders who demonstrate this by their positive actions and behaviors.
Congratulations to Gavin Ottery, Izzy Sperfslage, Rudy Juarez, Kaleb Nennig, and Liam Petersen for being selected as the CHS Students of the Month in March.
Gavin has demonstrated remarkable growth in both his confidence and academic responsibility, making him an easy choice for Student of the Month. Over the past month, he has become a strong advocate for himself, speaking up when he needs clarification, asking for help when he needs it, and taking ownership of his learning. Rather than allowing challenges to set him back, Gavin has developed habits that keep him organized and on top of his assignments. His desire to stay ahead has not only prevented him from getting overwhelmed but has also led to impressive academic success, reflected in his high grades. He has been a pleasure to have in class. Statement submitted by Ethan Elliott.
The science department would like to nominate co-students of the month: Izzy Sperfslage and Rudy Juarez. Both of these students have gone above and beyond expectations by putting their talents to use to help their teachers. Isabelle used her knowledge of 3-D printing and Solidworks to work with Mr. Hein to create atomic orbital models for chemistry classes and paper airplane launchers for physics classes. Rudy has been working nonstop to test out new physics labs, which have required a LOT of troubleshooting! But he has been up to the task, using his engineering skills and science knowledge to identify problems, modify procedures, and improve the activities so that all students can have a successful experience. We are so proud of Izzy and Rudy, who are using their skills to improve the science experience for their fellow students! Statement submitted by Stephanie Ballard.
Kaleb Nennig is a delight to have in class. He always carries a positive attitude and shows a great amount of respect towards teachers, staff, and his peers. In class, Kaleb puts forth 110% on every assignment, and the work he submits seamlessly exceeds expectations. In addition, he never hesitates to advocate for himself, frequently asks questions, and often lends a helping hand to other students in the class. Kaleb is exemplary in all aspects, and I look forward to seeing his success in the future. Statement submitted by Emily DeYoung.
I am happy to announce that Liam Petersen is the Student of the Month for the Spanish Department! Liam is a hard worker who always tries his best in Spanish class, and I can always count on him to be on task and ask great questions to learn more about the language. Liam is a super helpful classmate, always willing to pause and explain something to a friend or volunteer to give answers during class. He is always trying new things in class, testing out more complex sentences, and trying to use what we’re learning in different ways.
