Campbellsport’s Sawyer Dirmeier Memorial 5K Run/Walk

On June 27, Sawyer Dirmeier Memorial had its first Remember 5K Run Walk in Campbellsport.
After Sawyer’s passing, his Campbellsport Cross Country teammates and family honored him by donating a memorial bench and creating a plaque highlighting his cross country accomplishments.
“Their love for their teammate created a lasting tribute to the young man who gave his all on this course,” said Lead Event Coordinator Danielle Graves.
The 5K race started just steps away from that memorial, with runners passing the bench during the race.

“We hope you’ll take a moment to remember Sawyer, reflect on the impact one life can have, and celebrate the legacy of perseverance, friendship and faith that continues to inspire so many,” said Graves.
A special thank you also goes to the Meilahn family, who generously donated a part of their property so the bench could overlook the Cougars’ Home Cross Country Course, which was one of Sawyer’s favorite places to run.
