C.H.S. Art Club Guides Young Artists on a Creative Journey

Posted

On March 22, the Campbellsport High School Art Club hosted an Art Camp for first through fifth graders from the Eden and Campbellsport communities. Throughout the day, students explored art inspired by different cultures and locations around the world.
The children traveled to Africa, where they painted and drew animals found on the land. In France, they created painted rock art. Then a stop in New York City introduced them to graffiti-inspired pin-making. The trip stopped in Japan for a snack, where the kids created an aquarium with koi fish (Swedish Fish and Goldfish). The journey continued to Peru, where students practiced traditional weaving techniques. For a creative twist, the young artists then blasted off to Mars, where they sculpted aliens out of clay.
Not only was the event a blast for the kids, but the high school Art Club members also had a great time leading the activities and helping the kids with their art. The camp provided an exciting way for kids to show off their creativity and learn more about art around the world.
