Cougar Boys & Girls Bowling Teams Qualify for State Tournament

The regular bowling season ended last week and both the Campbellsport girls and the Campbellsport boys team got a berth at the State Tournament, March 7-9.
The girls team sealed their berth last week finishing first in their conference tying Kewaskum with a 9-1 record. Kewaskum will also be going to the State Tournament for the first time in a few years. The Cougars have qualified the last four years. The girls team averaged 158 on the season, 26 pins higher than the next closest team.
As for the boys, they earned their berth by finishing second in their conference and averaging 172 in their conference, also having the highest average of the eight boys teams.
As for individual qualifiers for State, the girls will be sending two of the four spots in their conference. Olivia Boegel will be making her second appearance after finishing ninth last year. Senior Taylor Muraski will be making her first singles appearance at State. Olivia had a BER rating of 57.8 and Taylor had a BER of 57.2. The highest bowler in the girls conference had a BER of 61 which is Natalie Hirsch who finished
third in last year’s singles finals.
On the boys’ side, junior Carson Schrauth and sophomore Lance Kutz will be representing the Cougars in singles and team. Carson led the conference with a BER of 71.1, six points higher than the next bowler. Lance finished fourth in the conference with a BER of 63.0.
