The Town of Farmington has been awarded a 1.2 million dollar grant for the reconstruction of Orchard Valley Road.
The Agricultural Road Improvement Program (ARIP) Grant is very competitive in its first year, and the Farmington Board worked hard to secure it. The ARIP funding is designated specifically for roads that provide access to agricultural land or structures. The grant will cover almost 90% of the reconstruction project. The project is in the design stage in 2025 and construction is set to begin in 2026.
Town Chairman Doug Neumann has worked hard to secure funding for projects in the Farmington community. Neumann states, “I’ve worked incredibly hard over the past few years seeking other funding opportunities for our community’s overwhelming road maintenance needs. I’m extremely pleased to have obtained such a great opportunity to fund a project that was well outside our annual road maintenance budget.”
Governor Tony Evers and Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Kristina Boardman joined the Farmington Town Board, Town Engineer, and Golden E Dairy to view the site of the project and listen to their needs for road funding in the community.
