The Kewaskum Outdoors Team is proud to announce the conclusion of its highly successful 2026 ice fishing season. With an unprecedented turnout of over 70 student sign-ups, the program experienced massive growth this year, ultimately culminating in a major milestone: the team’s very first appearance at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association (WIFA) State Championship.
Throughout the 2026 season, the team competed in three major tournaments. A major highlight of their competitive run took place at the Tip-Up Extravaganze at Kettle Moraine Lake event, where Kewaskum dominated the ice and took home the title for the most total inches of fish caught.
Individually, the team saw spectacular success. Student-angler Nolan Marx etched his name into the program’s history books by landing a massive 39.5-inch Northern Pike, setting a brand-new school record.
Beyond the leaderboards, the program focused heavily on education, skill-building, and treating competitive fishing with the same dedication as traditional athletics. Later in the year, the team hosted a hands-on outing on Long Lake where students learned the complete field-to-table process—being taught exactly how to catch, clean, cook, and eat their harvest.
The Kewaskum Outdoors Team would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the dedicated school staff, parent chaperones, volunteers, and generous local donors. Your contributions, time, and financial support provided the gear and opportunities necessary to make this historic 2026 season an unforgettable experience for these young anglers.
