On Monday, Sept. 1, in Kewaskum, several kids, along with their parents, hosted a lemonade stand to raide funds for the future Creekside Camp playground.
The group spearheading the playground project were recently awarded a $500,000 matching grant to go towards the construction of the all-abilities playground, which is expected to be complete in 2026.
“These kids are so excited! This playground in their town would be such an addition to the community, and they wanted to play a part in helping the cause!” wrote Bekki Scheel.
“It was a beautiful day with a lot of traffic. The kids did a great job baking cookies, making posters, recruiting customers, and handling all the cash transactions at their lemonade stand!” Scheel added. “They were able to raise a total of $633, which will effectively be matched by the grant, bringing their total to $1,266!”
Scheel concluded, “We are so proud of what the kids were able to accomplish with teamwork and big dreams!”
