Kewaskum Middle School and High School Evacuate Due to Firearm Threat

On Tuesday, November 25, Kewaskum High School and Middle School received a phone call indicating a potential threat to harm students with a firearm.
School District leadership worked closely with the Kewaskum Police Department to dismiss students early and notify parents.
The suspect is being investigated in multiple counties and was arrested on Tuesday. He is currently in custody in a different county. He is facing multiple charges in multiple jurisdictions. This same individual was linked to bomb threats in Fond du Lac County, Rhinelander, and Tomahawk that were made between November 21 and November 24.
The suspect was located at a Tomahawk address and arrested by the Fond du Lac Police Department. There are currently ongoing investigations involving several threats made across several Wisconsin jurisdictions.
In a joint statement from Kewaskum School District and Kewaskum Police Department released on November 25, they said, “We are grateful for the professionalism, rapid response, and strong interagency collaboration demonstrated by everyone involved. Their decisive actions played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of our schools during today’s incident.”
They thanked those involved saying, “We want to thank students, staff, and families of the Kewaskum School District for their patience and cooperation throughout the day. Safety remains our top priority, and we will continue to work together to maintain a secure learning environment for all.”
At this time, there is no ongoing danger to students or the community. This remains an active investigation.
