Kewaskum Public Library Continues to Look for New Library Director

Posted

The Kewaskum Village Board held a regular meeting on July 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the village hall.
The Village Board is continuing to prepare for their budget meeting.
The Parks and Recreation Committee invited different organizations who use the parks frequently to a meeting to discuss their plans. After the initial meeting, they were asked to create a three-year, five-year, and 10-year plan with the follow-up meeting originally planned for July 10. After not hearing back from the organizations, the board decided to reach out to the organizations and postpone the meeting to the following week to give them more time to prepare.
The Library Board continues to search for their new library director. The job description has been posted on the library website and the village website, along with being promoted on the Monarch Library Systems website. The deadline to apply for this position is August 1.
The village board decided to renew their two-year contract with the Kewaskum School District to have a school resource officer. This individual is employed by the police department and assigned to the district. The board also decided to renew the two-year crossing guard contract. The school district will reimburse the police department for the payment of the crossing guards.
The next village board meeting will be held on July 21 at 7:00 p.m.
