The Village of Kewaskum prepares to officially open its brand new municipal building, consisting of the Village Hall and Police Department, this spring. The community is invited to celebrate this milestone at an Open House with a tentative date of Wednesday, May 7. This date is symbolic because it also marks the 130th anniversary of the Village of Kewaskum.
The vision for a new municipal building has been in discussion since 2014, with significant planning beginning in 2019 and official construction launching in 2021. From the start, the goal was to create a modern, functional space that meets the needs of the village for the next 80 years and beyond.
“This has been a long time coming,” said Adam Gitter, Village Administrator. “We’ve put a lot of thought into making sure this building serves the needs of our community, not just today, but well into the future.”
The new Village Hall and Police Department will provide much-needed storage space along with improved facilities and technology.
“One of the most exciting parts of this project is that we will be bringing back community spaces,” Gitter explained. “Groups will once again have a place to gather and meet. Additionally, we’ve invested in technology to livestream village meetings, making it easier for residents to stay informed.”
