During the Administrator’s Report, Village Administrator Adam Gitter reported that the TID 3 developers agreement has been signed. Fire Chief James Warnkey shared that they are looking at potentially doing an apprenticeship/cadet program where they are able to work with high school students who express interest in the field and they are able to do training courses at Moraine Park. This is something that they have just started to look at and will continue to develop as they learn more. Dennis Aupperle, Public Works Director, reported that all facilities at all of the parks are all up and running. The Bulk Pickup and Electronic Pickup were a big success. They were able to collect just over 20,000lbs of electronics. They are considering doing it again next year with the regular bulk pickup. Library Director, Stephanie Frey, reported that they are preparing for the summer reading program that will begin on June 9. They have been adding to their collection of things to cater to their patrons along with continuing to work on their renovations.
The Village Board unanimously approved the Kewaskum Athletic Association MOU and the Kewaskum Youth Soccer Association MOU. Aupperle shared that the current playground equipment will go on Wisconsin Surplus. This was unanimously approved by the board.
The County EMS review discussion continued. Adam Gitter said it is at a point where he feels they can get to a place of agreement. The County is looking to come to a resolution by July. This will continue to be worked on and more information will be provided as more developments are made.
The next Village Board meeting will be held on Monday June 1 at 7:00 p.m.
