Loehr’s Meat Service was started in 1952 in Eden before moving to its current location in Campbellsport by David and Bernice Loehr.
“Our motto is, ‘Buy local and support small businesses and our local farmers,’” said Carolynn Volz.
In 1986, David and Bernice’s sons Greg and Ray continued the family business by purchasing Loehr’s meat service.
Loehr’s butchers beef and pork from local farms, working with farmers who take great pride in how they raise their animals.
The store is open Monday, Wednesday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to Noon, with the store closed on Tuesdays for their butchering.
“We are finding more and more people want to know where their meat is coming from and that it is naturally raised,” said Volz. “In addition to sourcing from these farms to sell quarters or halves of beef and halves or whole sides of pork, we maintain a retail display case featuring fresh cuts daily.”
They make their hardwood-smoked hams, bacon, summer sausage, beef sticks and hot dogs fresh weekly, with the store located at 523 E. Main St in Campbellsport.
“As the warm weather approaches, we will also have a variety of flavored brats and burgers ready for the grill,” said Volz.
Loehr’s Meat Service, along with The Campbellsport Area Chamber of Commerce, teamed up on July 3rd. 2004 to make the World’s Longest Brat!
“Campbellsport made the map in a fun way that year for our Firemen’s Picnic,” said Volz.
“We look forward to honoring the legacy of David and Bernice by maintaining the same dedication to quality as we continue the work they loved so much,” said Volz.
