The third annual Oktoberfest at Saxonia House in Fillmore will be very special this year! The Friends of Saxonia House, the non profit group working to restore it, invite you to join in the festivities celebrating the 175th anniversary of the opening dedication of the Saxonia House on Saturday, September 20, from 11-3 p.m. at the site at 421 Hwy H in Fillmore.
The original songs they sang at the dedication party in 1855 will be performed (in English) by the local band “Old Guys with Old Songs” along with other folk music. German cuisine will be available on site from the Knights of Columbus Food Truck (as seen at West Bend Germanfest), and Oktoberfest beer will be for sale along with other beverages. Bring a lawn chair!
Free guided tours of the one-of-a-kind Saxon German House, beer cave, and progress on the log cabin/welcome center, will be scheduled throughout the afternoon. Come and tour the 2024 recipient of the Washington County Tourism Grant.
