The Campbellsport Cougars were well represented March 6, 7, and 8, at the Wisconsin State Boys Singles Bowling Tournament at Dale’s Weston Lanes in Wausau, where Senior Carson Schrauth and Junior Lance Kutz both advanced through the opening qualifying block and finished among the state’s top competitors.
Kutz opened with games of 214, 235, and 194 for a 643 series, placing him 25th after Round 1. He added a 551 series in Round 2 for a six-game total of 1194, finishing 27th overall.
Schrauth started strong with games of 279, 205, and 232 for a 716 series, good for 6th place after the first block. The defending state champion surged again in Round 2, rolling 249, 210, and 255 for a 714 series and a six-game total of 1430, moving him into 2nd place, just 28 pins behind leader Ian Dudley.
Returning to the stepladder finals for the second straight year, Schrauth built a commanding lead in Match 3 before two late bad breaks shifted momentum. He fell in a 222–221 heartbreaker to Kyler Zeman of Sheboygan Lutheran, ending his title defense by a single pin.
Schrauth finished third in the state, adding another podium finish to his decorated career, while Kutz’s 27th-place showing capped a strong junior season for the Cougars.
