Sport Utility Vehicle Crashes into Town of Auburn Home

Posted

At approximately 1:01 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a residence located at W1621 Christy Lane in the Township of Auburn.
Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with the Kewaskum Fire Department, Campbellsport Ambulance, Campbellsport First Responders, and the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance.
Upon arrival, deputies located a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the front yard of the residence with significant structural damage to the front of the home. Preliminary investigation indicates the SUV was traveling eastbound on Christy Lane, continued down a private driveway, and struck the front of the residence.
The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, a 32-year-old Campbellsport woman, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene, and later transported to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor, and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Injury.
At the time of the incident, two individuals were inside the home. One occupant, who was asleep in a bedroom that sustained the direct impact, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Froedtert West Bend Hospital. The second occupant was not injured.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. No further information is being released at this time.
