Steven Herbert Roehl, 76, was born to Herbert Carl and Elizabeth Marie (Bertram) Roehl on April 11, 1950, in Sheboygan. He grew up in the Town of Mitchell and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee.
Steve graduated from Plymouth High School in 1968 and enlisted in the Army. He was soon deployed to Vietnam as an artillery surveyor, stationed at Chu Lai Combat Base with the 23rd Infantry Division (Americal).
After his honorable discharge, Steve returned home and worked at Gilson Brothers and then Regal Ware as a journeyman maintenance mechanic until his retirement.
In his free time, he enjoyed trapshooting and was a member of many area Sportsman's Clubs. He was also a member of the Ozaukee Guzzlers MC. He was happiest on his Harley, with the sunshine and wind on his face.
Steve and his wife, Kari, loved to travel. In 2017, they sold their home and began touring the country in their RV, eventually settling in Ocala, FL. Together they visited many states, along with Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Fifteen years ago, Steve received a kidney transplant at UW-Madison Hospital. That gift, and the generosity of a donor and their family, gave him fifteen more years: years of riding, of travel, of time with the people he loved. His family will always be grateful. Please consider adding organ donation to your end of life plans.
Steve passed away peacefully in Ocala, FL, on September 16, 2026.
Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karoline (Luckow) Roehl of Ocala, FL; his daughter, Beth Ann Roehl (David Mehnert) of Glenbeulah; his fur babies, Lola and Buddy; his in-laws, Roger (Trudi) Luckow of West Bend, Randal Luckow (Timm Elmer) of Palm Springs, CA, Kathleen (Anthony) Gigante of Menifee, CA, and Kelli (Vernon) Schultz of Kewaskum; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
Interment will be in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held in Wisconsin at a future date.
