The vestibule at the Village of Kewaskum Police Department is now open 24/7. The vestibule is meant to be a safe room and to help protect anyone in need.
When the emergency button is pressed, the vestibule doors will lock automatically, securing the space and allowing the person inside to safely call for help. The room features a direct-dial emergency phone that instantly connects to 911. This allows the individual inside to immediately access emergency services.
The vestibule is made out of ballistic-resistant film to help protect individuals during a crisis.
In addition to being a safe space, the vestibule also has the drop box where village residents can drop off utility payments or other village correspondence.
Chief Bishop said, “I am very excited to offer this to village residents, so if they really need help, they can get it 24 hours a day.”
