Posted
Thomas “Spitz” J. Zehren, 73, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at his home.
Tom was born on October 19, 1953, in Fond du Lac, the son Leo and Madeline (nee Ruplinger) Zehren.
On May 11, 1974, Tom was united in marriage to Diane M. Bassill at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.
Tom worked at Weasler Engineering in West Bend for 50 years before retiring.
He loved hunting, especially pheasant and deer. Tom was a member and volunteer at the Kettle Moraine Sportsman Club and also volunteered mowing grass at a number of locations. Tom and Diane loved to travel locally in his “Bar Car” and you could see Tom and Diane walking almost every day on the sidewalks of Campbellsport. They enjoyed traveling, taking many cruises, bus trips throughout the United States, and staying at all-inclusive resorts. Tom loved making wood for cozy fires at home. Most important to Tom was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left behind to cherish Tom’s memory include his beloved wife of 52 years, Diane; children, Jamie (special friend Courtney) Zehren and Cheri (Robbie) Manthei; grandchildren, Kylie (special friend Jonny), James, Madalynn, Taylor, and Katelynn; sister, Elaine (Charlie) Ertl; sisters-in-law, Linda Zehren, Myra Zehren, Carol Martiny, and Lori (Mike) Mayer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Madeline; in-laws, Norbert and Joan Bassill; brothers, Richard, Gary, Larry, and Kenneth; brother-in-law, Larry Martiny; sister-in-law, Chris Zehren; and nephews, Nicholas Martiny and Billy Mayer.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 1, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport.
A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 3 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating and burial at St. Matthews Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Campbellsport Fire Department.
