Posted

Three people were taken into custody after a police pursuit on March 8 that began in Fond du Lac County and ended in Dodge County, authorities said.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle driving recklessly at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of traffic on northbound Highway 41 near Military Road in Fond du Lac. The vehicle exited at Military Road, and the deputy attempted a traffic stop. The driver accelerated and fled, leading deputies on a pursuit.
The suspect vehicle re-entered Highway 41, this time heading southbound, and the chase continued into Dodge County. Dodge County deputies attempted to use tire deflation devices, but the suspect avoided them. The driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to evade the devices, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and become entangled in the median cable barrier near Highway 28.
The driver and two passengers were taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported, and no squad cars or other motorists’ vehicles were damaged during the approximately 17.2-mile pursuit.
A police K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, authorities said. Deputies found a rifle, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and marijuana during a search.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from Watertown, was out on bond for eight felony cases and one misdemeanor traffic case and had nine active arrest warrants, according to the sheriff’s office. Charges being referred against him include fleeing and eluding an officer, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (10–50 grams), possession with intent to deliver cocaine (1–5 grams), and possession of THC (second or subsequent offense).
The front seat passenger was identified as a 23-year-old man from Milwaukee. Charges referred include possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (10–50 grams), possession with intent to deliver cocaine (1–5 grams), and possession of THC (second or subsequent offense), all as party to a crime.
The rear seat passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Watertown, was on active probation for possession with intent to deliver cocaine (15–40 grams). A probation hold was placed on her, and charges referred include possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (10–50 grams), possession with intent to deliver cocaine (1–5 grams), and possession of THC (second or subsequent offense), all as party to a crime.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
