John T. Schoofs

John T. Schoofs, 86, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on December 27, 2020, surrounded by his family.
John was born on March 22, 1934, in Kewaskum, the son of the late Ted and Ida Schoofs. John was a custodian for Holy Trinity Catholic School and Church. He loved being outside and loved to talk to people. John was a favorite uncle at Wednesday night boy’s night. He had a smile and was ready to share a story with everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Those John leaves behind to cherish his memory include five siblings, Father Allen Weinert, Mary Ann Theusch, Syl (Debbie) Schoofs, Steve (Meg) Schoofs, and Sharon Derks; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen Schoofs; a brother-in-law, Terry Theusch; and many aunts and uncles.
Visitation: John’s family will greet friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, in Kewaskum on Monday, January 4, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: Mass for John will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. His brother, Father Allen Weinert will officiate and burial of his cremains will take place on Tuesday at the old Holy Trinity Cemetery in Kewaskum.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Maple Meadows in Fond du Lac and their entire staff for all of the loving care they provided to John in the last 11 years. They would also like to thank Dick Grebe for always being available to take John to his appointments and picking him up for Sunday night dinners.
