Gordon Gustave Schwartz

Gor­don Gus­tave Schwartz, 89, of Hori­con, passed away on Sun­day, Sept. 8, 2024.
Gor­don was born to Gus­tav and Eleanora (Drews) Schwartz on July 4, 1935, in Bur­nett. He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School in 1953.
Gor­don was united in mar­riage to Florine Schultze on Sep­tem­ber 30, 1961, at St. Malachy’s in Hori­con.
Gor­don was a faith­ful mem­ber of St. An­drew’s Catholic Church and used his voice to praise his Lord by singing in the choir.
He worked for many years at John Deere as a pipe fit­ter. Gor­don was a mem­ber of the Hori­con Fire De­part­ment for 33 years and was a for­mer fire chief.
Gor­don’s pride and joy were his grand­chil­dren. He cher­ished the time spent to­gether and the pre­cious mem­o­ries made. Gor­don’s hob­bies in­cluded play­ing cards, trav­el­ling, and at­tend­ing the­ater pro­duc­tions.
Gor­don is sur­vived by his wife, Florine; his chil­dren, Lisa Schwartz of Slinger, Gor­don Schwartz Jr. of White­fish Bay, and An­drew (Kari) Schwartz of Grafton; his four grand­chil­dren, Maren (Kevin) Kohlwey, Zoe Schwartz, Starr Welk-Schwartz, and Greta Schwartz; and his three great-grand­chil­dren, Auburn, Jade, and Ember. Gor­don is fur­ther sur­vived by other rel­a­tives and many dear friends.
Gor­don was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents and his eleven broth­ers and his sis­ter.
A Cel­e­bra­tion of Gor­don’s life will take place on Sat­ur­day, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Chris­t­ian Bur­ial at St. An­drew’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ed Ko­r­nath pre­sid­ing. A vis­i­ta­tion for Gor­don will be held on Sat­ur­day, Sept. 21, at church from 9 a.m. until the time of ser­vice at 11 a.m.
