Mildred M. (nee Lackas) Theisen, 96, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
Mildred was born on March 26, 1923, in Theresa, the daughter of the late William and Adela (nee Wolf) Lackas. On October 11, 1947, she was united in marriage to Albert Theisen at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa. They settled into the Theisen homestead north of St. Michaels. A long-time member of St. Michael Parish, she worked many fish fries and Fall Festivals over the years before selling the farm and moving into the Village of Kewaskum.
She was a stay at home mom until the unexpected passing of her husband, Albert on July 10, 1969. After which she worked various jobs throughout the years until retiring from Serigraph. Milly spent many hours creating beautiful crocheted doilies, afghans, and many other crocheted and knitted items which she sold at craft sales. A grandchild would always help her out for the price of a donut and a lesson in sheepshead.
Milly is survived by her children, Susan (Gary) Peters, Peter (Luanne) Theisen, John (Michele) Theisen, and Nancy (Mark) Boden; grandchildren, Doug, Jeremy, Nicholas, Jennifer, Christopher, Ellyn, Michael, Lisa, Kathryn, and Emily; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Petri; a brother, Donald (Rosie) Lackas; two sisters-in-law, Rita Lackas and Mildred A. Theisen; other relatives and friends.
Milly is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; parents; siblings, Rueben (Francis) Lackas, Harold (Bernice) Lackas, and Eugene Lackas and a brother-in-law, Bruce Petri.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred will be held at Noon on Friday, August 23, 2019, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8883 Forest View Road, Kewaskum (St. Michael’s). Father Jacob Strand will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Mildred’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Trinity School are appreciated. Milly’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Kettle Moraine Gardens for the loving care they provided Milly.
